My kids and I just hatched our second chick but when the chick finally got the bottom half of the egg off and broke free of the yolk sac cord there was some blood- appears to be coming from the vent or rear? Is this a protruding vent? Bleeding stopped very quickly but I’m worried about infection.

To me that doesn’t look like the vent that looks like a tear in the stomach area where the yolk was or it’s unabsorbed yolk or part of the cord that attaches to the egg. The part I circled on the pic looks like the actual vent i will tag some people that can help even petter though.

Your best option is to keep the injury liberally coated with antibacterial ointment and hope for the best. This is something other chicks may peck at and create a life threatening injury, so it's best to keep the other chicks away until this heals. The chick will demand to be with the others so a partitioned brooder can help make it feel it's with the others, but a snuggle toy or a bit of stuffed fleece can give it something to snuggle against to satisfy that need.
