We have a Becca Pip! Now if the other chicks would stay off her egg long enough! LOL. None of the pips are progressing. Humidity is very high 74% due to all the wet chicks in there (5). My MIL came with me to TSC to pick up another brooder lamp and ended up buying me a chicken hutch to put these babies in tomorrow instead of the little cage! She is so sweet. She knew it wasn't in my budget, but because we share the farm she really wanted to do it for me!!! It also helps that I'll keep them out of the house! (Pout, I love having my babies in the house)

That was so sweet of your MIL! I have seven BR chicks, five from Becca and two from Fern. Fern gave me one cockerel and Becca gave me one, but the rest are pullets, so that means Miss Becca is throwing more girls than boys.

I'll give you a pic of the chick hutch when I build it, it's a kit...Have to decide where it is going first.

I think I know the one you're talking about. Several feedstores here, as well as Ace Hardware, have them. Would make a nice brooder!

That's what I was thinking Cyn. Not really a nice place for Chickens to live for long, but not a bad brooder... I'll put a little cardboard down, some pine shavings and paper towels over it...and boom it's a brooder

So far it's just status quo.

BTW Hubby is making us return the Chicken Hutch. He went out in the dark with his SawsAll (the actual saw, not the chick) and made some modifications to the coop that is standing empty and dirty to show me that it would be just as easy for me to make the modifications I've been complaining about tomorrow as it would to put the hutch together.

So, instead of using the Hutch, I'll clean the coop tomorrow (He did the mods in the dark, with the sawsall...darned angry husbands), get it insulated and ready for the chicks.... will be easy as pie now.... or at least as easy as putting the hutch together and free to boot.
