Just locked myself in the coop AGAIN!!!

Right!! Well my pen is off the coop thankfully and there is a very small dorr for the chickens to go in and out. I can get out of the pen, just not the coop!!

I am right there with you. I got locked in the chicken run and had to crawl thru the chicken door into the coop two nights in a row. we had the string thing (wire actually) and the first time it broke. then last night i left the door open and the wind blew it closed.

i had a flashlight last night and tried to signal my neighbor with it.

NOT FUN!!! I do it often, but hopefully not anymore!! The string thing should work. I am so happy someone told me about it!!!

Are you kidding? I don't even have those self-locking doors on the house, let alone on the barn. And my car has one of those electronic lock thingies--it locks the doors but never the trunk (hatchback) if the keys are still in the ignition.

I got tired of feeling like an idiot, being locked out of my house on a monthly basis. I never have my keys or my cellphone with me, and half the time I'm still in my pajamas.

That is EXACTLY why I don't have those locks on my doors! I know I would never fit thru my pop door! We have a simple latch hook on hte inside coop door and a regular door with a regular key lock on the outside. I know I would be locked in if I had one of those. I can just see it now, sitting on the dog box, on the kennel side with the girls looking at me like umm are ya lost?

Ok you guys!!!!! I have had one of those days were I just want to scream!!!!! It was my first day after spending 5 days on the couch with the flu. I had a Dentist appt and a bunch of things to do in town. By the time I got home my head was pounding and the teenager was getting on my nerves. DH is working late so I couldnt even vent to him. Then........................................

I read this thread and I am laughing so hard I might just blow Margarita out my nose!!

put a doorbell button in the coop and run a line to a bell in the house to let him know you are stuck again, you could also dip his fingers in warm water while he is sleeping to get him to fix that door. DISCLAIMER: I'm not responsible if you do it. that is funny tho, could you rig a web cam in your coop so we can root for you next time that happens?
