So…..
Old Scratch is my rooster.
Hatched some in Nov 2023 and decided to keep one…
Named him/her Bennu.
I’ve watched Bennu grow, at first I was like, “It’s a boy.”
Months later, I was like, “It’s a girl.”
Then…it hit me while staring at Bennu. Boy…sure looks like a boy.
Hasn’t crowed yet…but I’m certain it’s going to happen soon. Am I right?

Clear as day the tail feathers and the large wattle.
Idk how this eluded me.
Welp…guess I have two roosters.

How old exactly is Bennu? Do you have mature hens of the same breed to compare comb and wattle size? I honestly can’t see any male feathering, but it’s so hard to tell on black chickens.

5 months.

yes, I have 4 more Ayam Cemani, females. Bennu is completely different from them.

Yup. Funny. This morning he was out….scared me. He was trying to crow. He was saying “Geeeorrrge!”
Idk who George is, but I’m sure George is having cold chills at the moment.
