Just placed my first order!

I just placed my first order ever! From MurrayMcMurray Hatchery, they'll be here in early Feb.

I am so excited to see them all....I am curious what some other people have gotten for their "free exotic" chick.

That's awesome!! I ordered some chicks from My Pet Chicken that are being shipped February 10th!! Definitely post some pictures when you get them!!! I am so excited for mine to get here!! Congrats!

I am not sure what it was but as I remember it was black with some white near the chest and had feathers on it's head and I gage it away at week 2 as it did not fit in with my EE's

I ordered from meyer hatchery last year. My extra chick was a 1.)Barred rock. I got her and 2.)EE, pretty eggs not strong shelled though. 3.)a Splash maran really big eggs, 4.)a blue hamberg roo his belly button was not absorbed and didn't make it, 5.) blue Andelusian, white eggs, 6.) an Ancona was supposed to be a girl but was a boy.

The chicks I hatch myself seem brighter.

Funny thing I called Murray McMurray hatchery and said I had questions about their chickens and the lady said "We don't have Chickens Jest chicks."

Firsr let me say, I love Murray McMurray. I have ordered from them several times. I have gotten a silver hamberg, EE'S, polish crested and the last is a silver Phoenix which is beautiful... Good Luck on ur order!! I'm very happy for you.

I just placed my first order as well 6 Easter Eggers from mypetchicken. Guess there is no turning back now. They are coming april 7. Can't wait.

I put in my very first orders mid December. Its so exciting and scary at the same time when you put your first order together. I wanted a colorful flock and got 7 different breeds LF and a few silkies in hope they will go broody and hatch more eggs for me.(broilers too) I also ordered geese and ducks from McMurray . But my birds don't come until late april or late may.

I placed my second order with Meyer in December. I wasnt impressed with the quality of the Marans I recieved but I only use those gals for eating eggs. I have others that I got from a breeder to breed with. I just like the dark brown egg color. All my chicks survived the 2 day trek, although something took off with 3 of my rare egg layer assorment (ee, speckled susssex, and polish) chicks when they were around 8-9 weeks old. Cant wait to recieved my next order in early april.

My maran from meyer's is really big splash. she is not real swift, but lays a giant egg every day. and it is not a double yolker. sometimes I cannot close the lid on the carton.
