*Blink, blink* wow... He's so calm. I wonder if someone had him as a pet and released him, or if he has a head injury?Figured I'd share this video of this little redhead I found in the road last night here because he is very very cute
I am thinking it has to be one of those two things, I found him in the road right in front of a stop sign at night time and he tried to fly away from me but couldn't get any lift and just kept running into a fence. I'm thinking maybe he got hit by a very slow moving car while he was flying by, and it didn't do too much damage because there were no noticeable injury, but he might have just gotten a concussion or something. He was extremely calm for a wild duck. Last night when I set up my tub for him and left him in there he just kept freaking out and I kept hearing him banging around in the tub so I just supervised him closely while he sat on my lap for most of the night. It was like he didn't want to be caught, but once I had him in my hands or lap he just got very calm and relaxed, it really seemed like he could tell I wasn't there to hurt him, he was even nibbling on my fingers and my shirt the way that my ducks do. You can see his cute little tail wagging during that video, he seemed pretty content.*Blink, blink* wow... He's so calm. Either way, cute!!
Wow... I just can't imagine a normal wild duck allowing any of this. Of course, I don't have your magical duck powers...I am thinking it has to be one of those two things, I found him in the road right in front of a stop sign at night time and he tried to fly away from me but couldn't get any lift and just kept running into a fence. Babies!!!!!!Looks like it's duckling day at the park!
Is saw this momma show up about a month ago but I only saw her 1 day then she disappeared, I guess she was nesting. I've only ever seen one Muscovy hatch out ducklings at this park before and she isn't great at protecting them, so hopefully this momma does a better job.
All the babies look about the same except that ONE adorable one with the little pink bill and a big splotch of yellow on his belly :O
