Poor thing. Maybe she had a rupture in there somewhere. Who knows, maybe all the eggs held off the bleeding. You just never know with these hens. I'm sure a vet would have done the same thing if he/she was in your shoes.

Wow... I'm so sorry.
I wonder if she wasn't actually broody but sitting on the nest trying to lay, then just too sick/exhausted to get off.
I've never heard of 3 fully formed eggs in a hen at one time before.... wow.
