Just when I was about to give up...

Okay have a ? though ? I just read that the room needs to be dark and the room i am using is the office area in the house this is where the computer is and we have a tv in here as well. I do keep the mini blinds closed here all the time. The temp has been holding steady at 99.5 and the humidity is at 47% so far. I have water in a small dish in the bator. I hope this is okay. Its a LG still air.
OH so confused lol

deana:)

The room needs to be dark? I've never heard that and wouldn't worry about it. With an lg still air the temp. should be 101.5 at the top of the eggs, since you're running lower your hatch may be delayed by a day or two. The water dish is ok if it's below the screen, but if it's on top the chicks can drown. I use sponges if I need to up the humidity beyond what can be done by filling up the troughs under the wire. Happy hatching!

I did what I do when my pigeons are stuck in the shell. I removed enough shell to free the head and leave the rest up to the chick. Hes out and about now. I will post pics asap.

I had one pip sometime last night and had really not made any progress until about 3:30 this afternoon when he all of a sudden decided to zip and hatched within the hour so I think sometimes it just takes a while and mine are not where it is dark in fact there is a light right about them they are on my kitchen counter and it has been on most of the day as the kids keep checking to see if he had hatched. Hope it works out well for you

I've helped many out, and so far so good, no deaths, all healthy. There are sites to take you step by step. If it still peeping, good, the biggest worry at first is that there isn't enough air for the chick...I've picked a tiny hole through to the chick after it's been all day, then you can see the chick poke it's little beak out and just breath. Good luck...
