Hello gang! I am new here. Nice to meet all of you.

I have a five juvenile chickens that are a few weeks old. I suspect one is a rooster and I was wondering, at what age will the combs and wattles start growing and turning red?

u can tell right now if there 2-3 weeks old. hens have long tail and wing feathers.... so if u compare them and some have short tails then there roos

Easter eggers are one of the breeds that can be hard to tell for a long time.

Might be able to find some hints in that thread on what to look for.

This is incorrect. Growth rate of primaries is not aligned with gender in chicks that were not bred for wing sexing.

If you post photos once they are feathered, it may be obvious to an experienced eye. Those that start life as chipmunk striped usually are. BTW, if your chicks have fuzzy cheeks, they won't grow wattles.
