Juvenile Saxony male or female?

Do Saxony males not look different until they have adult feathers or can you tell sex as juveniles?
As adults do they always have the solid gray head, or is that "breeding season" plumage?
Here is mine at about 7 weeks. We can't tell by it's voice.

I don't know, they are hard to catch so we haven't tried for a couple weeks!

Do they make the curly tail feather as juveniles? My pekins all have a couple that stick up a bit!

Its to young to feather sex. It will quack or not at this point. My saxony are a few weeks ahead of yours and the males are starting to get the grey head.

Thanks. I couldn't find anything definitive online about differences as juveniles. Fingers crossed she's a female...my daughter thinks she quacks

If you pick it up it will quack loudly or sound like it has lost its voice.

I disagree, I have had Saxony's before, and at this age, with males, you'd be seeing some gray on the face nonetheless.

It depends how you manage them as to how quickly they feather, all i can say is mine had just started molting at 8 weeks, definitely no grey at all at 7 weeks.
