Karma -- Thoughts?

I don't know if what I believe in is considered Kharma or not. Remember that commercial a while back where someone did a good deed and then the recipient of that good deed helped someone else and so on? I do believe in random acts of kindness. I believe if you help people, then someone will help you when you are in need. Is that Kharma? I do believe you reap what you sow.

You are SO not alone Boyd

I'm glad you stopped by Matthew Ryan! I find myself agreeing with most of what you said.

I agree Coyote, at the end of the day, a lot of it really does not matter. We are all humans, basically most of us all want to same things in life, it seems so silly and absurd to fight over differences. And it is especially sad when people want to change and hurt others because of those differences. I am glad we're not all alike.

I guess this might be a test of Karma. Years ago in the neighboring county, a very evil young man beat a mentally challenged man to death. Walked away "scott free" as they say. Grew up, married had a passel of kids, divorced, remarried had more kids . . .no one ever forgot what he had done to that poor man, and everyone would say "what goes around comes around" . . .one of his son's is in prison for life for killing a girl over some weed. She was a nice person, just either gave it away or told someone where it was at, and he shot her 5-6 times in her front yard and she died trying to crawl back into her home. Tragic and just devastated people that knew her. Luckily there was enough evidence to send him up the river for the rest of his natural life. . .now, the younger son was just murdered they think over the week-end because he was a smart mouth flirt that couldn't/wouldn't keep his hands off of other guys SO. Someone, who had just gotten out of prison, alledgedly beat him to death . . .now, God is a loving God and I have always been taught that he doesn't punish US for our sins through our children, but no one never say anything about fate or Karma. . . .interesting thought. Might not be today, tomorrow or next week . . . but, you just never know when "someone" will step in and take over your existance and work their way.

I believe in karma, but what I don't believe is that it exists because "we" want it to. If someone wrongs you, and you wish bad karma or comeuppance on someone in order for them to "get their due", then you are just wishing evil on someone. Wouldn't that be punishable as bad karma in itself? Turn the other cheek. That doesn't necessarily mean to keep putting yourself in a position of abuse, but to forgive and forget. Let go, let god...that sort of thought.

"I believe" (IMHO) we humans think some "one" is actually paying attention to what we do, and I feel that is not the case. No cosmic hand controlling destiny or outcomes. We are just ants at best!!... Matter of fact the entire universe could just be one molecule in a much larger entity. Maybe the bacteria and microscopic life are thinking the same thing, like we are being punished.. Yuck that antibotic is killing me.....

;)

Again, IMO... Karma is more subtle than that.. An internal feeling if you may..
