Ok, raising ducks. The waterer must be deep enough for them to clean their nairs. and they need a starter feed that has enough niacin. A wild game or turkey starter will get you there.They will make a tremendous mess in the brooder, but once out on pasture not so much. And they lay extra large eggs... if you can find them. They are very good at hiding them.

I thought I had settled on ordering pekins & Cayugas... but I think I’m going to find some ducklings locally. I’ve still got to work on the whole chicken situation as well. I’m thinking they’ll go to someone locally, whom I know will take good care of them. 
It all depends on what you want them for. I have an order for 10 jumbo Pekins in spring, so I'll get 20 and raise them out to about 13 weeks.
