Thanks! That "foam insulation thing?" Did you use spry/blow in or the foam sheets? Or is it something else. I don't mean to be a pest, I'm just desperate to not have a slew of "house roosters" again this winter when the frostbite sets in!The coop is very insulated with the same insulation foam thing that we use in our house as well as some other materials that keep the cold out (I'm no pro, and we made this 8 years ago). We fill the inside floor with hay. The chickens don't usually roost on the roosting sticks in the winter, they typically hang out under the nesting boxes (or in them) and cuddle up there. 12 chickens piled up in one corner with tons of hay makes it very warm. The hay/straw is like a blanket to them. In the spring, they go back to the roosting stick and it's fine after that.
The coop has ventilation under the roof, but it's placed accordingly so when the wind comes, you don't feel anything. Here, the wind chill is high so having little wind coming through makes the coop even warmer.
Pretty Lady! Looks like she's yearning for a swim ... cute!Coop cleaning day!

So adorable!! I do have a question though, what does DS mean? (I’m probably the only one who doesn’t knowOkay, Kayla, I get the distinct impression that "cute" ranks high for you ... and this video my DS sent me just about tops the charts . I hope you like kittens, as well as chickens ...
(and I hope this works, 'cause if it doesn't, I'm gonna be REALLY embarrassed!)
