Oh and eating higher carb foods will leave you sleepy and exhausted feeling afterwards as your blood sugars go up and down. It's not the turkey at thanksgiving that makes people fall asleep, it's all the carbs they eat. :th

Huh, that could definitely be it too. Funny it's all like ohhhh it's definitely Candida do this diet! But they don't mention if you're eating crap you'll feel like crap

People evolved to move and forage throughout the day. We weren't meant to eat large amounts constantly throughout the day. I never understood people eating 3 large meals a day. You are gonna no feel good doing that.

I personally eat smaller and more frequently. An Apple here, a piece of toast there, grab a cookie when the mood hits. Limit your carbs but definitely don't eliminate them. I have type 1 diabetes so you learn pretty quickly what food does to you. When my blood sugars go higher I get sleepy.

Yeah, I think I read somewhere that it's better to eat more smaller meals and it's the same for dogs and horses too. It just makes sense.

I might try doing that.

And that makes sense. Is thar just with diabetes or anyone who eats a lot of sugar gets sleepy? I usually notice a crash and also I'm really hungry despite eating a lot

I think most people get sleepy after a carb loaded meal, though it could also mean you could be pre-diabetic. My husband is and he crashes after supper a lot.

It's crazy once you start looking around at carb content of foods. 15 carbs is one serving, which is equal to a slice of bread, or 1/2 a banana as an example. Stuff like potatoes are really high in carbs, that's why French fries are so bad. Take your typical fast food meal of a burger and fries, that's a lot. The burger probably has 50 carbs about, and the fries are probably 30 or more. A person shouldn't have more than 50 a meal, and that I think that number is for men.

It's so easy to overeat these days. :th

That makes sense. I think I am cause like last year they told me i was yet i still eat bad

But yeah, definitely way too easy to overeat and junk, not even healthy stuff

I've never looked at the carbs before.... WOW. And that's only ONE slice! Why is the serving size one slice? Who eats just one slice?

But so that means if I have a sandwich that's 42 grams? And if I have two sandwiches? EEK!

Used to be most slices of bread was around 15 carbs. People used to mostly eat bread with a meal too, so one slice was I serving I'm guessing. Things certainly have changed with food, not always for the better.
