Sounded right to me. They definitely aren't a good breed for people looking for something easy, or for someone who thinks a half hour walk is exercise to a dog. She definitely added her opinions on the breed, but I did agree with it.

Thanks! That's true. I do somewhat feel like it was somewhat misleading though making them seem like they could never be family or suburban dogs because my cousin had one with 3 little kids (just put him down in July, I think he was like 14) and FSIL had one growing up (her and brother). But I guess it depends on the dog and it it probably best to make it sound harder so people don't get them who can't handle them cause raising kids and a puppy is hard work and most people aren't up for it, especially with a working breed like an Aussie. But I do feel they are slightly easier than a BC? And curious what did she add? Can't remember everything she said. I will have to rewatch the video.
 
She added that they were difficult. I think for the same reason you said. Australian shepherds have suddenly gotten popular due to their good looks. They aren't for everyone. I follow a few groups on Facebook, and I see half praising them and the other half complaining. I'd rather tell people the bad stuff. There are too many unwanted Aussies now.

That makes sense! That's a good point. I think that's true for a lot of breeds now. Aussies, Huskies, Border Collies, GSDs, etc. People just get these working dogs and don't anticipate their needs or train or work it then blame it on the dog. Corgis are extremely popular too. Videos and pics all over the Internet. They're definitely cute but they're also a herding breed and I think people just expect them to be these cute, fat, lazy things. Maybe some are but they're still work. I don't really know too much about the breed but I assume less work than Aussies and Border Collies? But still work and possibly more stubborn. Shiba Inus are also extremely popular right now or were for a while. There was a very popular meme featuring them. But imo that's a terrible one to impulsively buy because they can be stubborn, independent, not necessarily affectionate kinda like a cat lol, and apparently can be fiery or bossy with other dogs. I think they're just not what most people expect. Especially since they likely want a cuddly, friendly dog. And they look so cuddly and teddy bear like. And just like dalmations after 101 Dalmatians. And Huskies maybe got more popular after Snow Dogs and Eight Below? Plus they're just all over the Internet now. Thankfully, Belgian Malinois don't seem to have gotten too overwhelmingly popular or flooded shelters after Max was released. Even though there was a second one. I guess cause people realize how extremely difficult they are and that they're more of a police/military dog. That or good breeders refused to sell them one lol

That is very sad :(

Note it's mostly terriers and working breeds lol people get them and can't handle them. Plus lots of breed sold in pet stores sadly :(

And I think the bully breed and Lab numbers are possibly inflated cause shelters label everything a pit bull or Lab mix and I doubt most are actually APBT lol cause people with the actual breed, are probably very careful and responsible with them. But there definitely are majority pits and labs in shelters :/
