Very pretty fish. I took Huckleberry out of that tiny box as soon as I got home he has a gorgeous elegant tank with a bonsi tree and a waterfall in it. I was just wondering what type he was

I'd say he's a solid red veil tail, but I'd need to see a better side picture of him flaring. You can put a mirror or another betta in front of him. Usually they move around a lot when flaring, but eventually they settle down. Nice bettas Leaf! Two look like my late girls a bit. Is the green one a double tail? He looks like he could be a halfmoon double tail, which are really nice when in full flare

He is a twin tail halfmoon. My tiny crowntail was attacking my gups, so she is now in with the halfmoon female, the light pink one. They have large bowls with two glass shrimp in each bowl, along with marbles in the bottom, a plastic plant, a cave-like structure in one, and a shell and a couple flat rocks in the other. The females are together, the male is housed alone. The halfmoon female flared her gills a bit at the smaller betta, but they seem to be getting along. I'm a little worried about aggression in such close quarters, but I plan to upgrade to a much larger tank soon. Thoughts? I don't want aggression of course. :/

If you want less aggression, you should get more females and more hideouts for your females. Make sure the hides you select are safe for all fish, though. Good luck with your girls, and post more pics

Thank you! I have lots of hides in the tank the female was in, rocks, live plants, alcoves, caves, little hiding places, and many nooks and crannies. She is now residing in a much smaller tank with another female. I just saw the larger halfmoon chasing her, so I brought out another glass tank, this one taller, for one of the Bettas. Ugh, I did not expect that I would suddenly be getting so many new tanks.... Too much more work, with the sudden extra load. But the fish come first... :/

I think it would've saved you some if you got a five gallon for all the females. Lots of space for the girls yet everything is in one tank. That's just my opinion, though. Bowls work too for temporary housing, especially for males. I should get guppies next time I go to a pet store, hopefully soon after that the tank and I will be ready for another shot at female bettas. I sure hope that turns out fine. I hope your bettas will be fine, my Orlando's condition isn't getting any better^~^

I don't know how well you can see this koi. He has a blue stripe and a yellow stripe on his side. I have never seen a koi this color. There were four of them at our local Wal~Mart.
