First time quail owner here with a few questions.

1) Can different breeds of quail be kept in the same pen? ( Bobwhites, coturnix, and maybe a pair of buttons)

2) Do bobwhites need room to fly?

3) If kept together, will the quail breed with other varieties?

I only have Coturnix, but I gather that it is a VERY BAD thing to house different breeds of quail together - something akin to feeding gremlins after midnight, or getting them wet . . .

Buttons should be kept indoors, and you reeeeeaaaaaallllllly don't want stinky coturnix inside your house! Bobwhites are pretty mean little birds, so it is best to keep them with their own. But bobs and coturnix can interbreed, though it is rare.
