Ken had a heart attack - Meal ideas needed now!!!!

The usually don't place a stent til it's 60% or more. The meds they have today actually will break down the blockage a little bit sometimes as much as 20% in about 6 months - 1 year. good luck to you.

The meds can even HEAL and regenerate the heart tissue also...where the damage occurred...instead of scarring over. KEEP up with those meds...my DH had a 80% blockage! The Cardiologist said WHOA NELLY when he was doing his cath...NOT something my DH wanted to hear while getting a Cath done!!! LOL But they stented him 4 times also...they said it was the LONGEST stent they had ever placed in someone. They called the area the widow maker

I told the doc that if he called it that again he would be kicked!!
The life flight crew lost his clothes...sent it to a funeral home and they had them for weeks. HOPE some dead guy was not dressed in the wrong clothes...it was a BIG wake up call from God for us. Life is not to be taken lightly from here on out...surprisingly we do not sweat the small stuff anymore. Wishing you and yours a happy recovery!!

This is a gift...

The lad(left anterior descending) is the widow maker. We call it that because it is your major artery that carries blood flow to the heart once that gets blocked your heart dies and ususally the patient does too. ct -good thing your dh got seen when he did.

Yep....Left Anterior Descending...every time someone tells me he is very lucky to have survived, I cry. It was very VERY stressful on our family...he is everything...I really cannot be without him!! He sat straight up in bed...out of a deep sleep. I knew it was bad...he could not talk....could not walk...I ACTUALLY got all 3 kiddos up out of bed and drove him to the ER. Next time.... 911 I was a paramedic once upon a time...so I knew better...but this was his first episode....just slight pain and shortness of breath (which he confused for allergies).

I think this is the first time I've talked about it...in detail. Rehashing it....gets me weepy again!!

Thanks for listening though!!

Deb----tell Ken I hope he's better soon!!
