Ken had another ??? attack Update pg 16

You know that type of care, or lack there of, is unacceptable. If it isn't the insurance co's that are interfering then it's docs who drag their feet. Case in point I have a friend who's husband fell 50ft off of a pole building they were putting up. He's lucky to be alive. However he still cannot walk (due to a foot injury) and he now has a major infection in his foot due to incompetent docs. He has a staff infection that is now in his leg which originated in his foot. There's no telling how long it's been there b/c all the docs said he should have been walking and back to work by now. Situations like that make me so mad b/c they are unavoidable.

Just like in your husband's case. Had they done what they were supposed to the first time around, this second episode could very well have been avoided. I'm not saying all docs or the medical field in general is bad, but they aren't as proactive as they used to be. Dr Oz says it very clearly in his Smart Patient book. We have to be our own advocates or at least have a family member who can be for us. We have to stay on top of the docs/nurses constantly and question what they are or are not wanting to do as far as procedures, treatment etc.

Just keep on them Debi and make things happen!

I know. The insurance co's need to just keep their noses out of the doc's business and let them do their jobs. We've had so many docs leave our area b/c they were tired of having insurance co's dictate to them what they can charge, who they can treat etc. Politics.....oy....

Best of thoughts to you and yours during these trying times.
Stay on top of things and don't back down. I went through similar when DW had stroke 3 yrs ago. I was so mad with the ER doc. After 5 hours in ER he comes in and says well I really don't see anything wrong with her (she couldn't talk and didn't know who I was ) He knew when I stood up and saked then why is she just laying there. That is when he said "I will get another doc to talk to you" and I told him I think that is the safest thing for you right now.

Don't give them any slack they don't earn.

You'll be in my prayers.

Ken's docs jumped through every hoop he could and wound up really angry last time. I am betting this time he pushes with all his little tiny Philipino might! They are not even anticipating a release date at this point, which gives me some hope.

just a quick note (and lots of prayers from a wife going through similar situation
