Yay, my game hen hatched out her chicks on tuesday....great day to meet the world. Rainy and cold. I placed a chick water near her water and feed and sprinkled feed on the board (outside the doghouse). Is there anything else I should do? I know that you cant beat a game hen with raising chicks but it isnt the best time of year for finding grub.

I have mine locked up in a dog cage with her one little lonely chick. I'm afraid of the baby getting chilled with all this lovely wet weather we've been having!! Just make sure her water isn't too deep. I would probably just remover her waterer, and let her use the chick waterer as well. How's the new baby doing? Keeping you busy evidently, you aren't on here much!

Hello to you from a fellow Mt. Sterling BYC'er.

Did you make it to Preston this year? Mount Sterling during Court Day is a little to crowed for me these days. Glad to see someone near me. Im close to the Judy Drive-in you?

We all need to meet sometime. I can tell that some of you know each other. Which this is not the best time to have a swap meet. Maybe we can plan something this next spring. But if you guys ever meet somewhere please include me. I can bring the lady from broadhead with me, as long as her husband does not want me to catch some chickens (haha). Where would be a good center point in the middle of all of us that we could possibly all meet? I am in Eubank near Somerset.

We are going to get our little girl in January! My game hen has about 12 chicks, funny since she went broody on 7 eggs. She is in a big doghouse, whiich is up against the deck, and the feed and water is under the deck. I think they ventured out today and ate some. I will remove her water container, I didnt think about them jumping in it.

Congratulations!!! I hear the OEs are very good mommas.

We would not forget you...I think it is a great idea some time... Somerset is pretty much centrally located between London and out that area, Columbia, Pine knot area, Monticello to Burkesville, and Lexington area. I keep telling them at Walmart that a Sams club needs to be put here.
