Kentucky people

Hello, all. I am new to Kentucky. I live with my husband and 6 children. We moved here from NorthEast Wisconsin.
We currently have Buff Orpingtons, Cuckoo Marans, California Whites and Black Sex Links. I should have Silver Grey Dorkings arriving here in about 2 weeks.
Hoping to get to know more chicken people.

Ours are varying degrees of excitement on being picked up. They all come to you and live to perch on you, but 2 are complete lovebugs, 2 are neutral, and 2 would rather not be picked up but will still try to perch on us, lol.

I'm pretty close :) - in Jeffersonville - just an exit or two from you. My husband and I are also new to chickens. Our flock is eight weeks old, and 21 birds strong. We have 2 Rhode Island reds and they are sweet. Also very curious and brave, exploring new space or foods before many of the others are willing to.
My first coop arrives tomorrow!! I'm having trouble finding chickens, any suggestions?

We got ours from Mt. Healthy just north of Cincinnati (bout a two hour drive for us - easy drive almost all highway) . Very healthy day olds at reasonable prices.

In Boone County! Trying to find hatching eggs since the last two batches of shipped eggs have been full of duds and the ones that do start to develop end up being quitters.
Nice!
Sorry about your eggs though. I know there are a lot of poultry swap groups on Facebook where people post hatching eggs a lot of times. I'm no help as I'm new to chickens and I don't know the first thing about the entire egg aspect of it

Hey! I moved to the Louisville area about 5 years ago from California, and 2 years ago bought a house about 30 minutes out of the city :) Very nice out here! A little humid and stormy this time of year, but I'll survive!

Got 25 Dorking chicks from McMurray on the 7th. Now we are down to 18 I think. Worse I have ever gotten from McMurray. Looking for other hatcheries to try and get some from.
