I love the bourbons!! I am getting a trio of blue slates in a few weeks, and a black spanish tom as well (though I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with him!)
It seems like everyone in KY has at least some OEGB, except for cthrash1 that is. She's the oddball!
I also have button quail, I'm up to 16, and a good part of them seem like males. But they usually 'pair up' anyway, so I might be ok.
The french guineas are the bigger ones aren't they?

Good to have you here! Me and chiknmama kind of take over this thread a lot, but feel free to jump in!! You may have a lot of reading to catch up on if you aren't online a lot!!

I scored on the dog run panels from the craigslist ad.
1 6' tall by 15' long panel
1 6' x 5' panel
1 6' x 5' panel w/55" gate
the above all have the chain link on them in good condition
and 1 6' x5' no chain link on it. All this for $50.00, it's the start of the main chicken run.

My 7 babies are gonna be 2 weeks old tomorrow and they are all trying out their little wings and trying to hop out of the brooder.

We have a good time and kibbitz back and forth with each other alot, but we all hang together and have become friends through this forum.

So grab a cuppa whatever, pull up the chair, fire up the computer and join in the fun.

Tons of fun if you like hatchin, to bad you cant just give them away after they hatch just so you could hatch some more.

Jumbos gettin close huh? AMs are laying better every day im getting 10 - 15 eggs per day now. goina have to thin the males out soon to many. Thats the only thing about the am's until they 'crow" you dont know for sure. I know there is the foam method but im old fashion.

My two are so lonely they foam on their own!
gig.gif
I didn't have to wait too long, they started crowing at just over 5 weeks!

The jumbos are due on the 29th more or less. I can't remember if I set them in the morning (most likely) or the evening, so it could be the 30th. OMG!! That is like a week away!! I got so caught up in these ducks, I had 'kinda' forgot the quail! I guess I got too used to the ducks taking forever!

These two will bring my duck population up to 12. I have 2 pair of pekins, 1 pair of cayugas, one of rouen, and two extra rouen drakes. They keep the bluegill population down on the pond!

ETA: I'll be duck poor in a few weeks!
fl.gif
I have 5 more pekin eggs and 12 or 13 cayuga eggs in the bator, and they're not even from my ducks! When mine start laying, I'll have to check them for fertility!
