So what is "doing a Wicker Man"? I think I only saw the new version once.

They build a man shaped structure out of wood, kindling, etc... stuff it with animals (and humans) and set it on fire

Maybe some idiot will think it's a new breed, and she'll get $1000 for them!

Well, mostly just for celebrations nowadays - like the Wicker Man thing they do out west (friend of mine went one year) it is a week long concert/party/campout int he desert, and when it is over they burn a wicker man.

they burn them in the british isles still too, the pagans do it, and I'm sure re-enactors will do them.

most pagans nowadays stuff them with their "bad stuff" like habits, names of things to get rid of in their life, it's all symbolic, now.

bet it was more fun to use the actual ... well, nevermind

I love all those shows on History channel and Discovery on the old torture devices, too - must be my evil streak that makes me grin with glee and rub my hands together when they come on.

I must have been a torturer in the Inquisition in a previous life

It must be a 'guy' thing! Cris (obviously not a guy, but still of the male gender) has both Ice Age movies, he was watching them on TV all week last week, every time it was on dad had to tell him. He never watches those movies!

I'm watching 7 deadly sins now, for lack of a better option.

Dad just got back, so that's good. I was afraid he would fall asleep on the road!

I wanted to watch that the other night, but hubby had something else he wanted to see - I'm waiting til they show them all in a row on the channel, so I can make popcorn and have a good TV watching session
