Uh Meri, hate to tell you this, but today is the 4th, not the 2nd, change your calendar girl!

Think you better tell Jose to go on vacation for awhile!

The rain is supposed to stop sometime today and go away until Monday night, then with the temperature drop Tuesday morning is calling for a winter mix!

Well I'm back for now. I hope you all had a good holiday season and New Year. Long trip had to come back to go to work. Catching up was like reading a 500 page novel.

shelleyed: Congrats on the picture of gertie.

Meri: Say hello to Jose

Cindi: I know what you mean about catching up.

Bluedog420: I don't know if this would help.

Briarpatchfarms: Congratulations on some nice new chickens.

Andora: the polish roo is tempting just for the Chick-fillet coupons. I work next door to one. But I have way too many chickens and not enough room.

I cannot remember who had the goats. Crooney? But the goats looked great. I'd like to have room for some.

FrChuck: I found out my sister's son has a cinnimun tail Bugger?Budgie? or something. (A bird and not snot.) It is a pretty bird. I am easily confused when tired. She does well with animals. She has a 17 year old female toad frog which was only supposed to live for 5 years. I told her she should call it timex.

Healerdawg: howdy. Don't know what else to say.

Hope I'm not forgetting anyone.

told ya I'm not awake yet.

Poor Jose' is in a pen with two tiny cochin girls and a bunch of 7 week old chicks - he's eyeing those big girls in the next pen pretty hard - he'll just have to wait. I may be able to get him some women of his own Tuesday - we'll see. I'm only buying them if they are Delawares - (although I may grab a couple even if they are Columbian Rocks).

Mr. Speckles looks like he outweighs Jose' by about half again as much. I don't know if Speckles is a little older, or if he is just a hog

but he is wider across the shoulders, and the chest, too. I'm afraid Jose' would have a hard fight on his hands. I cannot believe how huge Mr. Speckles is - it's a good thing he is such a sweet roo, or I'd have big troubles

Looks like the rain might be stopped for good for a while anyway, so I guess I'd better go let everyone out. I'm sure Horton is starving to death by now (or at least thinks he is!). It really sucks that it rained so bad, the building was just about manageable!

Now I'll get to slosh around in mud for a while longer!

hey, shelley - yesterday I got 7 eggs out of those 6 hens in Mr. Speckle's coop
lau.gif
they were working overtime, I guess. Someone must have laid really early in the morning then again late at night when I went to turn off lights.

Those hens are laying better than my "laying hens" in George's coop

Lake Cumberland gamebird hatchery has them starting Feb 25th...In Monticello, you could pick them up at their store or have them shipped.

Meri, did you see the post about the person in Indiana wanting to rehome her pair of geese? She has a 2 year old, and a 1year old. Says they are used to being around children as well.

And I wasn't referring to Jose the roo, but the other Jose C!

Gonna go run some errands, be back later.

I think I'll wait for the goslings - that way I can raise them around my other animals. Thanks, though

HEY!! Welcome Back!! They always know when I'm reading to catch up because I prematurely post before I finish the pages. And don't talk to them til I'm done...
