What's cool right now is that hubby is letting me buy anything with "sell" power

so he isn't complaining at all about geese, ducks, more hens, anything

.

I'm taking advantage of it while it lasts.

The one in Liberty should be in April, that's when they normally have it, according to the people at Day & Day. But I'll let everyone know when it is. I'll have to make sure I save some $$ for that one, just might find something I need!

I want to have like 1 roo and 4 or 5 hens on the breeds I'll be breeding, so I'm about 2 hens short on the mottleds and 2 hens short on the millies. Plus the japs. When I get those from you, I'll have a pair of BTW and one BTB pullet, so those won't mix too well!! I also have the silkies, which there are 1 roo and 4 pullets in the whites, and Brutus the grey is going with the mixed girls anyway.

Funny thing on that cage I got - hubby had walked over and asked how much, the guy told him 25 - so he came back to tell me to go and check it out while he watched the chickens I had there, and the guy told me 20, so I grabbed it. It has a rabbit feeder attached to it, so I know it's a rabbit cage, but it'll do fine for chickens, I'll just duct tape the bottom of the rabbit feeder so food doesn't fall through it.

I've been saving my chicken and egg money - using what I need for chicken feed and bedding (and that cage), but right now I have about 90 in the can. I should have more by the time Liberty rolls around.

I'd like to take a couple hundred - you never know what I could come home with

Was it the guy that had the trailer right by the door? I was hoping he had one that was big enough for my baby quail. They really need to go out, but I can't find any wire like I need. I have some hardware cloth, but it would need to have a wooden frame, and that would be a pain in the neck right now. I might have to anyway, since that guy seems to like to charge a lot for things! I wish the woman with the table was still coming, she always had cages.

I'm sure if I went there with that much, I would come home with a lot of things I don't need!

Yeah, the guy by the door, he had it leaning up against his truck/trailer.

eta - I think it has the standard wire, like my big cage does - 1x1/2 or is it 2x1 ?

Well, I'll be taking the checkbook, too, in case I find some pigs or cows - I figure I may not be able to find weanling pigs til spring, hopefully BEFORE Liberty, but if not, then when I'm there.

The 200 is just for chickens and related poultry

I'm thinking of having hubby build me a duck/goose house (or two)before I get the geese here, too. It's so muddy out, I can't do much else on the lean-to or the fence, so I may as well keep him busy with poultry related items
