Kentucky people

Well I'm bummed this morning.

I got 7 frizzle eggs from DDD, and she tossed in two seramas eggs. One serama has hatched, the other is pipped and chilling out, but is still alive. Only one of the frizzles eggs made it to the hatcher, and it zipped amolst completely around the shell and died.

I guess I'm just not meant to have frizzles? That really sucks, I hope the other serama hatches soon, cause the other one is about 2 days old already, and it doesn't like it's brooder buddy (a stuffed toy duck).

I believe it is cold just about everywhere this morning guys!! At least the sun has come up here, just as blinding as it can be! So maybe it will warm up pretty good. I hope there aren't anymore frostbitten combs

I'm just glad I'm not back up north - it is -40 in Minnesota, and I didn't check Michigan, but I'm sure it is at least -20 there.

ours reads (weatherunderground) 28 degrees, but with a 18 degree windchill. Cold enough for me, thanks very much!! gonna get colder the next couple of days.

Thank goodness for stock tank heaters and heat lamps. I even had a little sparrow who had somehow gotten into the lower coop and spent the night - he isn't stoopid

Jon is off for two days, so other than chores, I think I can stay inside for the most part and hug the woodstove. We've been grabbing an armload of wood to bring in every time we pass the pile (going inside from outside) for three days, so I ought to be stocked up nicely inside, too.

brrrrr

BTW Shelley.....

did you know we're getting a TSC?

It's going in where the old Walmart was - supposed to be in about April (so the gossip goes, I'm still waiting for some official word).

Now if we could just get a Lowes and a Hobby Lobby, I'd be all set.

The gossip goes that they were gonna do it earlier than April, but got tied up in negotiations, so it got slowed up a bit.

There are things at TSC I can't get in town here (like high protein non-medicated chick starter) that would be nice to have handy.

It's so cold even my girls have slowed up a bit laying - haven't stopped, but have let up a little. Plus I put all the eggs for three days into the incubator, so I was out yesterday when Dave stopped by to buy some

oops. I have a dozen now, but I think he wants about three dozen, so I'd better wait another day to call him.

hmmm... that sort of got randomized back to the previous post

sorry....

In my searches this morning I found two places for sale in Columbia, KY. Now I wonder who I know lives down there and can scope them out for me first???? One is 99,000.00 and the other is 60,000.00

House & Steel Building on 4 +/- acres, for 99,000.00
3 bedroom home, 1 bath, unfinished basement,
1394 HWY 768 East, Columbia, KY

House, Outbuilding, Barn, 9 acres, for 69,000.00
7666 HWY 55 South, Columbia, KY

The first property seems to be in the better shape of the two, but the 2nd has a bit more potential for development/farming. The barn definitely needs major work on it, if it can be saved at all.

Well, the 768 runs out by me, but it is a long road, so it runs past a lot of areas
lau.gif
. By me it is a twisty turny road (average speed limit is about 25-30 mph

)

let me google map that addy and I can let ya know how close it is to me.

Ok, that's closer to Glens Fork - nice little (teeny tiny) community. I looked at a place over by there, but they wanted too much (had nice barns, but the trailer was trashed and would have had to have been removed - they wouldn't come down on the price). That place is on the road that Fairplay Meats is on - I get my butchering done there, nice folks own it.

The second one is a little closer to Columbia. Are you going through a realtor site? give me a link and I can tell ya better if I've been past the place or not. (or maybe looked at it myself to buy at one time

Can't remember which ad I saw it in but somewhere close to us south is about 50 acres w/A frame and it was like 70,000.00

You know, now that I think about it, there is a small place on my road - they just put a new roof on it, not sure how much they're asking. I think it is through United Country Realty. It is down by where Toria Meets Blue Ridge Circle. Not sure how much land, there are closer neighbors, though (might not want that). Let me see if I can look it up....

can't find the listing anywhere

I'd have to go look at the sign and call the office.

A TSC would be great!!! I just hope it doesn't make the regular feed stores close down. Day & Day is pretty cheap compared to TSC! Now a Lowe's is one thing I would vote for. You can't find any building materials here!

Don't think I've ever been in a Hobby Lobby,

so I can't go one way or the other on that.
