I e-mailed the lady that has the eggs and she said she'll let me know when she has them all collected and sent. So there's no telling how long she'll be. Hopefully no later than this next week.

Well, the silkies I have now are due next Friday, so I'll have more room then if they take that long. One bator will be almost empty in another week and 1/2! I have silkies due the 23rd, ameracaunas due the 25th, and lakenvelders due the 27th. Then the next week, every thing else is due! I think my eggs from Gatekeeper are due the 3rd, and these millies and the swap eggs I just got are due the 5th. Then I will be done, unless I get those eggs from Bama.

Wow!! That's really awful! Mine don't even have a coop, they sleep in a building with an open front. Almost all of mine are bantams and I haven't lost any. Good thing it's supposed to warm up though, my EE bantam hen is looking pretty fluffy. Maybe I'll toss her in the brooder with the babies? Do you think she would hurt them?

That truly sucks!!

I'm glad it is supposed to start to warm up tomorrow afternoon - one more night of this. I hope the duckies are still ok tonight. They came through ok last night, but I am so tempted to put them into the coop tonight, after being outside in the cold all day.

I noticed that Geroge and Mr. Speckles both look like they have a little frost bite on their combs, I can only imagine what it is doing to the little duckies feet. I am hoping their combs were just a little purple from cold, and it isn't frost bite.

I'm sorry ya lost the birds

My red pyle boys had what looked like frostbite a few weeks ago with that cold snap we had then. I don't think it was actually frostbitten, just pretty purple. I think it was just because it was so sudden, cause now it doesn't seem to be affecting them.

The lower coop get condensation on the roof that drips down

not much I can do about it, except put a fan in there

The upper coop, though, stays fairly dry, so if both have the same look, I'm thinking it is just the cold.

Man I can't wait til it warms up tomorrow afternoon!!!!

Drips down inside? That's a bummer. It would probably be better to just not have any heat in there at all. At least then the condensation would freeze, and not drip on the chickens.
