Ok, I'm back.
I was catching up on some stuff this morning, and I ran to the far barn to grab some parts for a cabinet incubator hubby is thinking of building (still working out the kinks before we build).
I let the chicks out today - the ones I hatched first (the large cochins and the ones Ihatched from Shelley). They didn't go far, were rather scared - right now they are inside George's coop
The girl duck kept coming down to peck at them
not badly. but enough to spook them into hiding.
George looked out this morning and saw the snow and didn't want to go outside
silly rooster - he finally went out, cause all his girls abandoned him.
While I was watching the chicks out looking around, I snuggled some donkeys - they are so warm with the sunshine on their fur
good for warming your hands up on a cold day.
I ought to be doing housework, I got a pile of clothes to sort through and do laundry, but I don't feel like it right yet. Got to clean inside cages, too. I'm wondering what to do with the button quail when I clean their tank.
Just having a lazy day, Jon is off work, Sam is off school, so I threw a pork roast into the crock pot, and all I have to do for dinner later is make "old rotten" potatoes (au gratan - the kids have always called them "old rotten potatoes" - just like Neapolitan icecream is Linoleum icecream...
) and heat up some corn. Last year they (the school) didn't have MLK day off, wonder why they have it off this year - must be some of the budget cuts.
