Hi everyone new on here. I am in Greenup Ky. Its north east near Ashland. I am desparetly looking for somone near me who raises Standard Blue Lace Red Wyandottes. It seems like no one in our area has this breed. I'm really not interested in driving 6 hours to get these. If anyone can please HELP.

Well, I had a surpise purchase today. I was just finishing up chores when soemone pulled into my driveway and says to me "Junior Walker told me you might want my donkey."

Turns out he had a spotted (grey and white) 3 year old jack - trained to pull a cart, and tame - and the jack had already sired a baby this year. He is adorable, and he is the same size as Butters ----Woohoo!!! I'll get pics later. He's pretty, though. We have him in the corral for now, so eh can get used to everyone before being turned out.

This means we'll for sure be selling Mojo and Juju (I wanted to anyway) so we have room and so we don't have too many Jacks.

Oh, and Mama is getting rather wide - she hasn't dished yet, but I'm thinking by the middle of April I'll have a baby out of her. I hope it, also is spotted and a girl - that would be SWEET!!!


I got to go take Jon to work early, one of the cooks cut his finger really bad and can't leave to get stitches until Jon shows up.

Oh, it's so exciting!! I had one that hatched on day 19 and one on day 21, so just be patient!! I have a golden lakenvelder egg and a welsummer egg due tomorrow, but I haven't seen any movement from them

I don't know what the deal is, but I can't seem to hatch much of anything right now, besides quail. I could hatch them with my eyes closed!!
My hen Gertie has 1 baby, and 2 more due tomorrow. I don't know what I'm gonna do with them. I can't bring them in, in case they are sick. They would infect all the babies I have in the house. But my hen has other eggs in there (from the other hens laying with her) that are due on all different dates. I guess I'll just have to let them die.

An LG is pretty dependable, but it needs to be in a very stable environment. Any type of draft or such will throw the temp off. I have 2 LG's and one is really good, the other is a pain in the neck!! Do you already have one, or are you thinking of getting one? If you don't have one already, I would suggest getting a hovabator 1583 or 1588. I have the 1583, and I absolutely love it!!

Well it is the end of day 21 and I have 6 of 12 barred rocks hatched out and none of the 8 bantam barred rocks have yet to start to hatch.

I quess that the cold weather may have adversely affected them during the mailing process. I'll have to wait a day or two to see.

So what's a pappa to do... I went and fixed a gallon of sweet ice tea and am now enjoying springtime

It has to be springtime since a line of thunderstorms passed through earlier this morning when it was 60 degrees out.

Hummm.... Does sweet tea and scrambled eggs go good together? Think I'll go check it out. Be back later...

Oooh yeah... Eggs and sweet tea for breakfast.

I was going to go for scrambled eggs but the yokes from the fresh eggs stood up in the pan so well that I made them over easy. Cannot get that from store bought eggs.

Are my girls good to me or what?
