Thanks for looking out for me, but I actually have to sell a couple of them myself

Maybe I ought to advertise them on Craigslist.... I'd probably get a better price than taking them to Smith's Grove.

I'd be happy to get what I have into them - 100 for both.

Anyone want to buy a pair of donkeys ?

They are bonded to each other - both will be 2 years old in July. The jack is dun colored, the jenny is black (with some frosting). They were born a week apart and have been together their whole lives. Their names are Mojo and Juju - but they don't realize this, so you could name them whatever you please

Made it to the Fairview auction today. Wow! you would never guess there is a recession going on. The largest crowd ever. Heavy hens going for 8-13 each, turkeys were 15-25 each, gesse were 12-20 each, purebred bantams in pairs were going at 30-50 a pair. guniea pigs(usually$1-$2) started out at five and up. Saw a pair of wood ducks bring $80. I bought a nice red silkie roo for 7,only reason he was that cheap was he was with a hen that was only half silkie. I'll cull her but he is a real nice one. I only stayed till 11:30 and they weren't even half thru. Rhode Island and Austrolops seemed to be the best sellers. Guess we better try and find some chicks of those!I was expecting low prices because of the hard times, boy was I surprised.

Hey Darryl - or anyone.....

This guy at the local Walmart is wanting some bantam barred rocks and self blue old english bantams - know anyone who has them?

I went in for a kiddie pool for the ducks, and we got to talking about ducks, which led to chickens, and he asked what I had, told me what he was looking for (and what he had) so.. I said I'd see if anyone knew where he could get some.

btw - the last GREEN kiddie pool had a manufacturing flaw, naturally

, so I had to go with blue. I wanted that green pool - glad I noticed the pin hole before I got it home, though.

I think these were old stock leftover from last year, maybe they'll get some new ones in soon and I can get another pool and get a green one next time.

I set it up after the ducks were inside for the evening - I can't wait to see their reaction tomorrow morning when they finally notice it. It'll be like Ducky Christmas!!

Those geese are still here - Mr. Speckles got too close to the goose and the gander picked him up by his wing and flung him across the chicken run - he didn't go too close to her again. Poor guy, he wasn't even looking at that goose, he was just passin' by

Mr. Speckles is a big boy - that tells ya how big that gander is

Well since I had to work today I had to get my chickie fix by placing a chickie order. So there 15 Polish and 25 silkies on the way. I am not sure how those evil silkies got on my order.

Fairview is on 68/80 between hopkinsville and Russelville. Its an Amish sale. This was the largest crowd ever and prices were equqlly high. Its a good sale, there is a selection of about anything you would want in the poultry line. But this sale it was for sure a sellers market!
I was wanting to go to the cookville sale but was sick. I heard their prices were good. Did they have a very big selection? How were things selling there.
There is another amish sale in Scottsville Ken. comming up but I don't have a date yet. Its as big or bigger than Fairview.

Yeah, right! We know exactly how those Evil Silkies got on your order, they hypnotized you into thinking they were a different type of Polish!

They transfix you with their cuteness and fluffiness looking like big overgrown fluffbutts, and then you are hooked!

I was not on here at all today, except to get some addresses from my inbox. I had some major reorganizing to do!!

The BR, BR /cochin, millies, btb jap, and the other mixed chicks are finally out of the brooder!!
celebrate.gif
They have moved into a doghouse that was abandoned once the puppies grew up. I put a fence around it, but have already had to catch the same little cockerel twice and put him back in!
th.gif
Plus 2 others got out when it was bedtime, they didn't realize the doghouse was their new home. But everyone is back and safe. The bigger babies that were inside in a little brooder are now outside in the big 'brooder', the little babies inside that were in a box are now in the little brooder inside, and everyone is happy!! For now anyway!
