Kentucky people

Sounds like you had a fun day playing with the babies, Shelley.

I spent part of the day researching information, then went to the doctors, then came home and fed everybody.

Waiting to see what the weather is going to be like tomorrow.

I saw a butterfly and a toad today, so that to me means spring is here!!

Those fat old toads don't come out till they have to!!

Cris was having a blast finding worms for the quail today! I don't remember how he found the first one, but once he started, he couldn't stop!

At least he can feed them to the quail, so he doesn't want to go fishing all the time!

I was thinking of taking him, but I have no idea where his pole is, and by the time I was done with everything else it was almost dark anyway. Maybe later this week we'll go. He has been asking me a lot lately. Dad's pond is 'stocked' with catfish and bluegills mostly, but Cris sure loves to catch those bluegills!

One of the magazines I subscribe to is called HobbyFarms and they have just upgraded their website. They are having a week long contest with some really cool prizes, tractor accessories, other neat stuff for around the home and farm including 100 pullets from Ideal Hatcheries. The web link is http://www.hobbyfarms.com

Check it out and enter the contest, no purchases necessary. Who knows you just might be one of the lucky winners!

Where IS everyone??

I had a friend of mine set some button eggs from my birds. 15 of 23 eggs have hatched so far!! So I have 15 little baby cockroaches in my bedroom now!!

Has anyone been watching the news lately?

The Conn. Govt wants to take over the Catholic Church there.

Yeah, you read that right.

Our constitution is quickly becoming worthless. I don't believe that it has any power over the current governmental bodies (state or federal) at all anymore.

how depressing.

eta - the "bill" is dead, for now - but just the idea that they tried is bad enough.

Hi, Kentucky people.

I've been lurking around the board with an inexplicable interest in chickens lately.

One of these days I'm going to catch the swap in Paris and I'm definately hitting the spring Lucasville swap this year. XD The problem is I'm not sure I could buy anything.

First of all, that amendment if passed, would be immediately be challenged in court as unconstitutional. As the writer of the article stated, if they succeed in this, then what is to stop them from regulating not only other churches/denominations in regards to financial matters but also what is and isn't considered appropriate services.

Secondly, what most people don't realize is that the church property is not owned by the local parish but by the Bishop of the Diocese as a corporation sole held in trust for the Pope in Rome. The exception to this is those parishes/schools/facilities that are run by religious orders. Those are then owned by the order and are held in trust, once again, for the Pope and are not subject to Diocesan scrutiny or control. However the local Bishop must give his consent for any religious order to function in his Diocese.

True, it would be challenged - but the fact that they tried is what worries me - with the fed. govt. throwing anything they please into this or that bill, and getting it passed, what is to stop them from getting on this bandwagon?

And also true - it isn't a matter of worry just for Catholics. This all began (in part) because the Catholics are against Gay Marriage - and some of the (Catholic general)congregation disagrees. So --- let them leave the church and join one that isn't against Gay Marriage... eh? The point is, that the Catholic Church (or any church) like it or not, is not run by the laymen or the govt.

I, personally, do not agree with much of what the Roman Catholic Church proposes is true and right - therefore I'm not Catholic. Gee, that's too easy of an answer, I guess. That doesn't mean that I wouldn't argue and fight for their right to believe and practice what they wish (as long as it is within civil law).

The people who want to control the church in Conn. are trying to control Thought and Belief - not Federal or State Law. That is why the Constitution (the Bill of Rights, actually) forbids the interference or government of the Church by the Government of this Country.

I am simply sick and tired of the Social Engineering that goes on and is passed off as "Government". If I wanted my Govt. to tell me how to do and think about every facet of life then I'd move to some Socialist Dictatorship country (or maybe if I hang around the U.S. awhile - before long it'll come to me.) .

Sorry everyone, I'm just a bit ticked today at the mess our Govt. is in, and the mess is it creating to "save us" from it. Every day you turn on the television and a different Freedom is being threatened.

McConnell took earmarks in the last "stimulus package" and today he is griping about all the money the Govt. is spending - um... excuse me, did I hear you were giving that Earmark cash back to Congress? No? then put away your situational ethics and shut up. I voted for the idiot cause I figured he would be true to his party ethics. Guess I'm the Idiot, eh?

And people in Texas are in danger for their very lives and livelihoods - yet the Federal Government stands mute on that problem.
I guess what is happening on the Texas borders doesn't earn them any Money, so it isn't important.

Our current Federal Government is dangerous for Americans, IMO.
