Yeah, that's what I was planning - just a couple trays, not a full bator of trays.

I was trying to figure how many you would need to keep up with what they lay? You get 5 eggs a day right? So 1 rack would be filled in less than a week. What have you been doing with the quail eggs? Cris loves them! If you knew how to pickle them, you could so sell those at Sano! When I took my button eggs there to try and sell them a lot of people asked me if I had any pickled.

Were you interested in one of the male jumbos I have? These are from a different line than the ones you already have. Those were from pop57, these are from peepsnbunnies.

They make them different now. My car is 12 years old, and still looks good! It needs a paint job, but once that is done it will look brand new! Too bad that truck is a Ford...

You sound like my stepdad - I happen to adore Fords -- so there!!

Hubby's car is in great shape for it's age, too - but it is so low to the ground, and so small inside - I have to climb down into it, climb up out of it, once I'm in, it fits good - it's getting in and out that sucks.

and the doors try to shut on you when you're trying to get out!!
I've been telling him for two years that car is haunted - he doesn't believe me.

It was his dad's car - when his dad died he got the car - great, right? well, his dad was one of those guys who obsessed over money and possessions - three weeks after getting the car it developed this tremendous stench - like damp earth - like a grave. It still has the lingering smell, but not nearly as strong as it was. Plus, weird things happen with it. We had to pull a fuse cause the interior lights kept coming on - with the car parked and not driven for a month, the lights will come on (all four doors closed, btw - and not opened the entire month it sat.)

Maybe, I'm not sure my fertility on those is very good - haven't had any luck with the ones I tried - but then, I only half heartedly tried.

Sorry, my satellite died for a minute there. My car had that smell too after it set for a while. Once I got to driving it the smell went away. Never did figure it out. Mine has a lot of electrical problems too, not the interior lights (that I know of), but other silly things. Maybe it's just those cars.

I wonder if the fertility is because the jumbos are hatch mates? Mine haven't been the greatest either.

Oh, and I have only ever had one Ford, and it was the biggest piece of
rant.gif
that I have ever had!! I actually like Buicks the best, but only have had one of those. I love my Grand Am, too bad I let it set so long before getting it worked on. Made it more trouble than it's worth I think.

I used to have this old Oldsmobile station wagon - that thing was the Bomb!! had a four barrel carb and it ran like a top - and was it fast!!

strange to have such a fast car in a station wagon/family car, but that thing could fly.

Every Chevy I've ever had was a POS. Had a Plymouth Fury 3 for my first car - it ran good (had a rebuilt engine in it, though) but the suspension kept getting bad on it - maybe it was all the two tracking I did looking for the parties? One nice thing about the Fury, though, was it would hold me and 7 other friends if we scrunched tight ... it was our cruising car

Well, I didn't do too badly tonight at the auction. I got tired of standing so I left early (I really need to pack those folding chairs in the cars) but I sold 30 chicks and bought 7 American Buff goose eggs for 5 bucks.

I almost got a pair of baby black runner ducks - but I couldn't do it with the other ducks I have yet to find homes for. If I didn't have them though... 5 bucks each on the runner babies - good price.

I really didn't see anything else that looked good to me. Talked to Eli, the Amish guy I got the Brahmas off of, he was there with his wife selling baked goods. He said he had had more of them when he started, a few more hens and a rooster, too bad the others got eaten by something - I'd have bought them all from him when I got the 6 hens.

Well, I have to go get Jon at work, so I'll be off for now.

btw - Princess Bride is on - maybe why no one else is online right now

I have a broody!!!! One of my OEGBs was sitting on the eggs when I went to check the nest box earlier. Poor little thing was trying to cover all of them, she was so flattened out she looked like she got stepped on!
lau.gif
and surrounded by eggs she couldn't cover. Hopefully one of the Milles that has been sharing the nest box with her will also decide to go broody and help her set on the rest of the eggs.

Well not only do I have the 7 2 week old chicks in the brooder, but today I went back over to Indiana to Orscheln's just to look at the new chicks they got in today and get some more supplies.

Wrong thing to do. I wound up buying 8 assorted Bantam day olds and 4 rainbow egg layer day old pullets.

I guess I'd better hurry up and get the privacy fencing up and the coops and runs finished before these all get to much bigger.
Most of the banties looked like they had feathered legs on them.
I just hope most of turn out to be pullets as well.

Oh my Chuck, I believe you are getting a bit over your head!

I have a total of 4 broodies now, one of which has NO EGGS!! Silly girl is so desperate that she is setting on a golf ball

I think Nugget the OEGB might have contributed to her nest today, she always likes to share. But this broody is Gretta the game hen's last fall baby, the only one that was a girl

So she is about 6 months old, and has been laying all of 2 weeks at the most. Guess she wanted an early start

Cris took a watch that he had won a month or so ago to try and sell it. Well, wouldn't you know it? The guinea pig lady was there. So we are now the proud owners of a baby guinea pig, which Cris bought with his own money. Dad 'bought' the watch from Cris for $5, then 'loaned' Cris another $2. The piggies were $8, and we tried to deal with her, but she wouldn't go down. So a man standing nearby gave Cris another $1 so he could get his guinea pig baby. Dad won't let us keep her in the house, so she is in the 'big chickie' brooder on the porch. She is inside a 10 gallon aquarium that was supposed to be used for the baby buttons due in a few days, but I have other things to put those in, so no big deal. This guinea pig is so cute!!
love.gif
She looks like a calico cat. I've never had a guinea pig before, so this is all new to me. I just love the little sounds they make
love.gif
I'm thinking we will be sneaking her inside quite a lot

There were a lot of people there, but I wasn't able to look around much. I was afraid my dad would make some 'deals' with my birds and I'd lose out.
gig.gif
But it's getting to where you don't even have to get out of your vehicle before people swamp you! I had a lot of interest in my BR, but everyone wanted just the pullet or wanted me to give them away. I ended up getting $15 out of the pair, so not too bad. I really need to focus on the quail, those sell as soon as I get there! Plus I had other people come back wanting to know if I had more!
