Are you going to go to the sale in Liberty? I'll be taking my other bantams to Sano next week, then whatever doesn't sell there will go to Liberty. I have way to many, and Liberty is just an auction, so whatever goes goes!

I got the eggs set in the bator - had to take out some turner racks to do it. I just laid them on their side.

Well, I was working up a story in my head... but then I researched a bit more, and did you know that when they cremate a body, they crush the big bones that don't get burned up totally? Sort of messed with my story line, so I got to re-work that part. The temps were good for my premise, but the whole crushing the body parts thing threw me off -that and they take out any metal that might be in the body at the time of cremation.

Bummer.

So, that's all I'm doing right now.

You know, it all depends on what kind they are, and what time they sell. I didn't pay too much attention to them last year, I was more interested in the ones I was trying to get. I do know that dad got 4 bantam roos for $2 total, but it was late in the day. Most everyone else was gone.

I didn't know there was one.

Has anyone had to deal with impacted crop in a chick? I'm sure that is what this ones problem is, but I don't know what to do with it? I have been told to give it molasses or yogurt, neither of which I have. Any other suggestions?

Well, I don't have any quite as stunning as that, but I do remember my first chickens. Well, first since I have been here and really gotten into them. I'm sure I had some growing up that were 'mine', but I can't remember them. I know we (us kids) had a RIR hen and roo named Henry and Henrietta. Other than that, I don't know

Well I went to the Shepherdsville swap today. There was only one silkie, a white roo. I passed on him. However there were some Porcelin D'Uccles there that I almost bought but managed to resist.

Some guy tried to sell me some Jack Russell puppies, and somebody else had GP/mixed puppies there.

I wound up coming home with a pair of Bunny Rabbits, a doe and a buck, so they are residing in the rabbit hutch and I will have to build a new hutch for the buck this week. Of course the MinPins, especially little Miss Sasha, wanted to eat, er play with the new critters! Luckily I have the underneath closed off so they can't get under the hutch and harass them.

I spent the rest of the day working on enclosing the top of the run area, got it almost done a few more feet and then I can close it off and let the chickens have total access.
