I sold the ducks before I even parked, and the chickies all went to one person, too. All I brought back home was one lonely roo who isn't a problem (he lives with the ducks, he isnt a problem YET - he'll be gone before he becomes one - one way or another).

Heck, I should have taken more critters to sell.

The duck pen looks mighty comfy now, though, without the overload of swedish ducks in there. Now I have room to hatch more and put the Calls in when they hatch/get bigger. Plus my gosling babies if they hatch.

The pen still needs landscaping, but my sister is due first week of May, so I'll have some plants to put in there then. She's bringing me some tall ornamental grasses and the like.

well, gonna cruise and see what trouble I can get into today.

Hey Kentuckians, I have sooo many chicks and my husband is after me to sell some; but how? Anyone interested I have barred rock, dominiques, buff orps and blue cochins. A few americanas that I forgot.

Yeah, looked to be mostly Old English....My hubby went with me and we bought Brandywine Heirloom Tomatoes and Big Boy Tomato plants from the FFA for $.25 each....sure saved us a bundle from buying plants from WalMart for $3.50 each!!! Saw some real nice ducks there...how did your do Ms. Turbo...you have some beauties!!

I have a pen with Golden Comets, Black Stars and Red Stars..they will be laying in about 3-4 weeks. $10.00 each if you are interested in those also. These are extremely productive layers.
I have over 60 of them available.

Spyder - you're in Edmonton, right? I have a friend who's been wanting some pol pullets. The Golden Comets were some that he mentioned for me to keep an eye out for at first, then last week he said he wanted dual purpose (are Golden Comets dual purpose hybrids or egg laying hybrids?).

He had said he wanted young hens or pol pullets, then he wanted dual purpose like I have. I think he'd be happier with the dual purpose - for what he wants - but I'll let him know you have those and get back to you.

We went to the poultry show in Brownsville yesterday. I got two very pretty blue wyandotte hens and a handsome RLBW rooster to keep 'em company. My husband found a lavender guinea too so all in all I would say our trip the the GRPC show was colorful. LOL.

The weather was perfect, so we went to Mammoth Cave for a picnic after we left. It was a great way to spend the day.

Thanks.....we did pretty good with the call ducks. We won in Blacks, buffs, chocolate, butterscotch and placed I think 1st in grey hens or pullets,,,,can't remember. Our SLW rooster got reserve american so we were happy with that. I didn't look at the plants because I just got done planting 5 trees and 10 bushes at home. Maybe next time. How did you do?
