PSSH..NO, it makes a different noise every day...I kept forgetting to take the camera back with me and when I did remember yesterday evening, after again forgetting to take it, I told hubby I needed to use the camera to video it so you could hear the sounds it makes and he was like"No, I'm taking it to the show with me." Like between 4 people working the booth surely there's gonna be another camera there. Husbands..

Anyway, he'll be back on Monday so I'll snatch it then...

Wow! The weekend all by yourself??

Hey everyone!! Party at Cindy's house!!

Maybe it doesn't make the call because it is by itself? If you hear it even once making the 'buckwheat' call, then it is a girl. The males don't make that sound at all.

They are adorable - congrats on them not being blue, or black, LOL.

Peace -

I guess technically they are white and black, but they are way more white than anything!!

Is it just me, or is it weird for chicks to hatch out white? I thought all white chickens started out yellow??

Btw, if any of the 3 are boys, they should look like my red pyle roos...that's how all the red pyles looked when I got them...very pretty!!

I just ordered that model (1588) and have 42 random eggs in for a practice hatch. The bator seemed well made for styrafoam (sp) and it is SO easy compared to my LG of the past. Just plug it in, add water and set the eggs. The turner fits perfect. So far, love it. The temp is perfectly constant in my basement. I am wondering about the fluctuations seen when the chicks get active, you can manually control it though. Good luck if you get one too. TSK

Okay!! Did I hear PARTY? I have the charcoal...Who's bringin the chicken...hehe...Plenty of room for everyone, We'll just clear off the table in the garage. lol

I swear it thinks it is a chicken because it talks to the black Australorp constantly, making different noises and follows her everywhere like she's it's momma. Probably trying to talk chicken with her.

Well, I'm sure with all us chicken addicts here, there will be PLENTY of chicken. It is the year of the rooster isn't it?

I noticed my guinea cocks chasing the guinea hens away from them earlier today. I thought that was weird!! I wish my guineas would be more friendly to my chickens. I will go outside to feed, and be standing in the yard tossing scratch in about 10 different places. The silly guineas follow me around and chase the chickens away...then they don't even eat any of it!!

LOL...Ours was guarding an empty bowl that rolled out where I threw their scratch. It would just start to get a look inside then a chicken would come up to inspect and it would run the chicken off, then by the time it got back from that chase another one was looking and it would run that one off...I was laughing so hard at it and I didn't have the heart to take away it's bowl...But I've notice this one is stingy with the feed too, but only with certain chickens. Hmmm...
