Kentucky people

My broody guinea brought her brand-new babies home this morning. They are so cute!!

She has either 8 or 9, those little boogers are fast!! I'll try to get a pic later if I can get close enough without her sending them into the weeds.

Have to go to town today to 'see-off' my dad's sister. I think she is the last one to leave, so it will be good to have things back to almost normal.

Cool, I'd vote for Sydney's house -- just remember to bring your trusty towel to swab off the drool

So, is it gonna be just us ladies having a chicken chat, or are the hubby's coming along for the ride?

I know my kids wouldn't be interested - if it doesn't involve computers, they're out of the game
hmm.png

Maybe we could do a Late June or July thing - cookout, everyone bring a dish and their own meat to throw on the grill.... If Sydney isn't up to that I can do it at our house

Does everyone like Black Beans and Rice?

Hey, do I get to come along? Even tho I'm WAY over here in Somerset? I make great sun tea(IMO hehe).

ETA: Okay so you guys know me well, I never read all posts before I comment.

And speaking of hubbys Shelley, Ron told me the other day he probably would have rode to your house with me if I had invited him...I told him I didn't think he would have been interested is why I didn't ask.

Thanks sounds like fun... Hubby is a watch collector and is in a forum similar to this but for watches and we were invited to Nashville for a cookout by one of those members...Maybe he and I can share in both of our hobbies this way.

I didn't get very good pics of the babies, but you can see a few. The lighter colored one is the daddy, and he is hiding the babies. I guess he wants them to get to know him too? Makes sense, since he didn't sit on the eggs. The keets would have to learn what he sounds like. She has 8 or 9 babies.

I did some duck wrangling of my own this morning (just two - but they were a pain in the butt!!)

I might be up for it, as long as I have some rest time in between (remember, I'm old, I'm fat and I smoke

).

Poo free meal?? Nitro leaves his share of "land mines" in the yard..but maybe I can work on that.
I vote for July..I went to an orthop[edist yesterday who seems to think she has found the source of my hip pain. Monday I have to go for an ultrasound since nothing showed up on an MRI. I'm too old to be pregnant..isn't that what ultra sounds are for..lol!!

So..with any luck I will be pain free by then. Course I will have 11 months of house cleaning to catch up on...grrr!
I agree that the kids would probably be bored to tears..but hubby's
are certainly welcome..since I don't have one I could sure use the free entertainment..lol!!

I'll handle the meat, steaks, ribs, maybe some burgers, and a big bowl of potato salad. But if everyone can bring a dish that would be great.

Yes Shelley..you are also most welcome...in fact..anyone in the area who is willing to make the drive here is welcome to come, but at some point I will need an approximate head count.

I should be ready to pick a date soon after I find out what the doctor has in store for me...looking forward to a big bash..BYOB

(BYOB..bring your own bottle..lol!!)

Sydney

I hope they get it figured out for you - I know chronic pain just wears you down (mentally, too).

July sounds good for me and hubby.

We should also all let Sydney know (when it gets closer) what everyone is bringing so we don't have a dozen dishes of devilled eggs

$5 and $8 would be good - Barred Rocks sell fantastically well out there- I plan to sell a little cheaper on mine, cause they are mutts. I have some 2 month old columbian rocks I'm gonna sell straight run, though, for 4 bucks each (if I can get it - you know how Sano is).

My groups of POL pullets and a roo (the pullets are 5 month, actually) are gonna sell for average 6 bucks a bird (or I'll just bring them home - I can get that any day from folks who pull into the driveway). I'll have 4 pullets to one roo - so I put a price of 30 bucks on the group.

I am probably still underselling myself, but it is Sano - you can't get them to spend anything usually.

I had thought about getting some keets to raise to sell, but I'm not sure I could stand the bother of them.

The ducks make enough noise for me - and they don't attack the chickens.
