Hey all I went to my very first at the property type of estate auction today!!!! It was soooo fun... Got some stuff too. Found a 24 ft ext ladder, huge shovel for the coop(now I don't have to use the snow shovel), a bunch of potted plants, and some little garden animals and 2 lamb planters. Oh I also got a wood coca cola crate but had to take a bunch of tobacco cutters with it... What am I gonna do with tobacco cutters?!!

Glad you had a good time! Are they the tobacco knives that have a kind of butcher knife look to them? If they are, and you are so inclined to do so...that is what my Dad uses to, how to say it delicately.....eliminate a chicken's head before processing. If not, you could try to find some farmers who still raise tobacco? Or take up knife throwing.

Oh cool!!! They are the hatchet looking ones and sharp to boot for looking so old.

Okay, you guys know I don't complain often about things but one of my pet peeves is that just because a chicken has green legs some people automatically assume it is an EE without first looking up and studying the different breeds, and that could possibly give a newbie wrong info.... So I try to list the link for feathersite as a reference if I reply to a post asking what a chicken may be.

I was under the mis-information that only EEs had green legs. You can imagine my surprise when I hatched that buttercup! It had green legs, and a goofy comb (was supposed to be a lakenvelder). I have since learned that there are many others that have green legs, though I couldn't tell you what they are. I just know if it's supposed to be an ameraucana and has green legs, it is not an ameraucana, no matter how convincing the argument!

Thank you Shelley!! Buttercup was the one with the really green legs that I was reading about the other day, couldn't remember for the life of me what it was. Plus a yellow legged and a dark legged mix will make green legs as well like for example... a cross between a Jap and a Dutch can make green legs.

Yes I really liked that car, but it had reached a point where I couldn't keep pouring money into it and still not be able to go places and see people. Now I have a minivan, so I guess I can qualify to be a soccer dad or something like that! And this van has air that works! And a CD player, can't drive without my tunes!

Besides, I have wanted to attend Sano for some time. Will see if Flowerpot wants to come along for the ride. She's not been feeling to good lately, think she's got some sort of summer allergy or something like that.

Hopefully the weather will be decent for this Friday.

I'm not sure what the weather is supposed to be this next week. Dad said that it was supposed to rain this weekend we're on now, but so far I think there were 2 or 3 drops earlier

Tell FLOWERPOT to take lots of benadryl, I hate allergies! Me and Cris were picking blackberries the other day, and the weeds are as tall if not taller than he is (heck, lots of them are taller than me! We really need a mower!

). Anyway, poor kid the next day just felt like garbage. He was saying his head hurt, and his nose was stuffy. He was even complaining of his belly feeling sick. All he did for most of the day was lay in the bed. This was after he woke up at almost noon, he never sleeps that long! After he was awake for a few hours I finally got him talked into taking some medicine. Less than an hour later he was dressed and heading outside to play. He still wasn't his usual self, but the benadryl sure helped!
