Well, folks, it's official, ShelleyD is a pervert.

I walk into the feedstore today, and see her in there, checking all the kid's plastic animal toys to see if they are anatomically correct - when she finds they are all males, she is showing them (upside down) to a bunch of ladies in there, saying how they're all male horseys and there are no female horseys.

Perv I tell ya.... just a perv.

I was just wondering how they were supposed to pass off the babies as belonging to the horses, when all the horses were boys!

That is sooooo funny.... Everytime the kids watch that Barnyard show on TV and I see the "male" cow I get so upset... How can a "male" cow have an udder??? Makes no sense... it's teaching kids wrong....

Cindy, I didn't forget about your bread.... DH was suppose to mail it yesterday and ended up spending most of the day at the county clerks office getting dog licenses because of our mean neighbor.... I did freeze the bread hoping it wouldn't crumble when shipped.... DH said I was being silly....

I'd love to share a chick order..... I want the chcolate egg layers this time....

I need a Turkey for Thanksgiving.... DD insists that we cannot have a "REAL" Thanksgiving w/o killing our own Turkey.... Anyone got any extras??? It doesn't have to be very big as we are only 4 people....

I know it is cold and a lot of breeds don't lay through the Winter, plus I have 3 moulting still, but if these girls don't pick up this Spring and start giving me some eggs, there going out to the lake to live and I'll be sharing an order with you guys as well... I think when one of my girls goes broody this Spring(and I know at least one will), I'm gonna buy some hatching eggs for her from MPC, and then sell all but one girl if I get at least on.

and to the Kentuckiana thread. Don't feel like your eavesdropping, hang around and you'll get to know most of us sooner or later. Last year I split an order with a couple of others on here. Don't know if I'm going to order more chicks this year or not yet, depends on if I move to the country soon or not. If I do, I'll let you know.

Shelley, I went to the Pigeon show this week-end on both Friday and Saturday, there were only 6 Parlour Rollers in the sale section and I wasn't overly impressed with how they looked. Tried to find some better ones in the show section, unfortunately they wanted way too much money for the birds. I did win two pair of Ring Neck Doves in a raffle and got two pairs of Diamond Doves on Saturday.

Guess I'll have to build a couple of inside flights now for the house birds.

So far we get anywheres from 14 - 20ish eggs a day, we dont have a light in our coop, sometimes I put a little solar light in there, the kind for you sidewalk (when I remember). We have 27 girls. Dont think they are all laying... I know one of our EE is not, then we have a momma who isnt yet (she has 5, 5 week olds shes taking care of), and we have a broody... shes been sitting for about 3 weeks now.

it would take more than a light on at night to get an egg out of mine. I don't think i have ever seen hens take a molt so seriously; it's like a fast. They are obstaining from food, fun, and the light of day; they just keep dropping feathers. they may be layed out for EEs. They had averaged about 220 eggs over the last 365 days, up to about a month ago. Can you actually eat a hen you have named? Dummy Stew, Pearl dumblings? I don't suspect my wife will go for it. Come to think of it, she's past production too.

I am only getting 1-2 eggs!!!! Enough to eat. Have a hatch next week then shutting down the bators for a couple months.

I am going to the Shepherdsville swap this Sat in case I run into any pumpkin bread......lol Supposed to be nice out Sat, we shall see.
