Maine Coons and Great Pyrs = silly giant fluff balls of nothing but love

I had a mutt dog who decided out of the blue to massacre my coop. It was AWFUL! She killed 9 of my lav split silkie babies, a young sebright roo and one of my Lavender silkie roosters. That was a sad and EXPENSIVE disaster! Needless to say she went to live at my moms away from my cluckers

Oh that stinks! I'm so sorry. She did that in a matter of hours, because my stupid butt spaced and left the run open. I couldn't really blame her for being a dog. But after that she was always after the chickens. So I decided to let her retire at my moms house.
Although I knew I was completely addicted to chickens when I got rid of our dog we had for 8 years so my cluckers wouldn't have to be cooped 24/7

If my mom hadn't taken her I really don't know what I would have done!​

Come spring I will be looking for SQ blues or splash pullets to add to my B/B/Spl breeding pen. I have a lovely Blue Rooster I would love to breed and hopefully get some chicks to show

Well Poo! If I had more space I would come and shop LOL! Right now I am focusing on Lavenders, Gray/Lav Splits (my newest experiment), and come spring a B/B/Spl pen. Cochins are just beautiful, but there again is that space thing....​

I have blue/splash silkies, no blacks. But I don't think they are SQ. I have a splash roo with a black hen and I will be adding 3 blue babies to the pen soon, provided they aren't all boys

Ms. Lewis Rich: Are you going to be at the Kentuckiana Poultry Show? I'm taking my splash bantam cochin pullet, a couple of d'uccles, and a couple of splash OEGB. I have high hopes for my little cochin, I think she is very nice.
