Kentucky people

Hi everybody, I was wondering if anybody would be interested in about 9 splash and 1 blue silkie chicks.
I had hatched them out from eggs I ordered. Hatched 1/2/2011
They all would make great pets or for somebody just getting started in silkie breeding. The ones that would make great pets have only 8 or 9 toes. The ones that do have 10 toes would be good for somebody just starting in silkies.
I am asking $2.00 a chick straight run and they would be pick up only. Thanks

Here in Eastern KY we only got a few inches, nothing too bad. School was canceled 2 days. As for egg production, I got 14 eggs from 14 hens. I thought it was pretty impressive, cosidering we have been experiencing single digit weather. See my sig for the breeds I have, it explains the xtreme egg laying

Hi!

I have a small backyard flock -- 2 Golden Comets, 1 Rhode Island Red, and a Black Star cross. They are averaging 3 eggs per day. This morning, I got 4 eggs. So the little sisters are doing quite well. I have a small heater and a heat lamp in their coop for fear my poor chickens will freeze. Despite my efforts, the water still freezes inside the coop, but the girls look good and are laying well.

What type of heater? Be very careful with those around shavings and such...also the dust....a fire can easily happen. I have heat lamps hanging over my waterers about 5.5 feet off the ground and the waterers are not doing too bad...some ice chips in them but not frozen solid.
