There is one in Southern Adair Co., it's called the Sano Goat and Sheep Auction. I don't know that chicks, no matter what the breed, would sell any good though. You might do better to keep them til they are a little bigger if you plan to take them there.

I have too many yard birds to hatch them all, but eventually I'd like to be to the point where I have no 'eating eggs' laid here

Don't you have a mutt pen?

a mutt pen...haha....tried that and one by one they were sent to the swap. I gave up and started buying them. I do gather eggs for the fridge if I can't make it to the store.

I should get a few white egg layers because all we have here are brown egg layers. I could just put the white eggs in the fridge....haha...I should go by TSC today....darn 6 chick rule!!!

Their mutt pen is called my house.

I buy a lot of their culls for my egg customers. I'm raising my egg prices to $3/dozen in April and nobody blinked an eye. YES!!! The extra money will buy me more of the Turbos Top O' the Line chicks.
By the way... it's SNOWING right now. Tuesday, it was almost 80 degrees outside. I'm glad I hadn't put the carhardt clothes away for the year yet

Anyone want a rooster? I have 2 and I need to get rid of one. I just don't have enough mature girls for them both. This is the one I am considering getting rid of. He was my first roo so he is close to 2 years old. He will take care of at least 12 girls. He likes his harem large. I have no clue what he is as he was a gift from a lady with very bad memory. She gave me him and a dominique. She remember one of the names and forgot the other. He has feathered feet. He is a fairly HUGE roo. At least double the size of my hens. He is very large and loud.

Haha! Me too Colby. I don't usually put my coveralls away before May!

When are you going to have some eggs for me? I am "egg deprived" at the moment - Faverolles eggs, anyway. My hen is molting and the two pullets have yet to start laying. After tomorrow I will have NO Fav eggs in the incubator!

I do have 3 eggs due to hatch tomorrow (1 Fav and a couple of Fav crosses) and 14 Marans due to hatch next week. Then what will I do? I can't leave two perfectly good incubators sitting empty!

I'll put the wyandotte rooster in the with good hens this weekend. Does next weekend sound good? That'll give him time to get busy. This rooster loves being in a breeding pen. He takes his job very seriously.

Check out the Online Egg Swap thread. That is if you have eggs to swap but must be pure. There's another swap thread for mixed breeds
