Kentucky people

Thanks for reminding me about the goldfish, will get it before I leave town. And will bring the eggs upstairs today.

I'm going to bring my lg bin in case you need it. I will modify the lid with screen like the small one...Then you can just lay the lamp on it's side in it with a 60W bulb for my chicks...They don't need the hot bulb anymore. I'll bring a bunch of the rubber liner for the bottom also...Depending on how I feel I either pull out and throw away the used piece or wash it and trade it out a couple days laters...Depends on how lazy I am that day.

Ok, my afternoon is turning really SH###Y !!!!

Anyway, let's try this post one more time.....

Ok, Cindy -

the box is the perfect size, so I don't need another cage or brooder - check this out....

If I have to seperate them, I can put the biggies into the cage, and the tinies into the box part - if they can mingle without killing each other, I can leave the cage door open.

So, things I need ya to bring ----

Lamp (I have a bulb)
Tylan
Pine Shavings (if you have them, if not, I can pick some up, no biggie)

Now, I get to take Jon to work, Oh, and I also "get to" pick up someone to take them to the garage for a radiator flush, then drive them home, and probabaly take them to pick it back up sometime this weekend when i am too busy to bother with it.

I wouldn't mind, except I wasn't ASKED I was told he "needed me to".

But what the heck, it isn't as if I have anything ELSE to do today and tomorrow and the like - I got all the free time in the world to be his freaking taxi service. Just because I have two houses to clean and other things going on in MY LIFE doesn't mean I canb't drop everything and run his sorry butt all over town.

Would have been nice if he'd have asked and at least said PLEASE!!!!!!!

And I thought I was escaping being everyone's "go to" by moving 500 miles away from my family. Some people got no clue.

I just love your pic of your box-brooder! Is that skull next to the virgin, or is it just an angel?

I wouldn't think you would need a heat light if you keep them in the house. I just put a 60 watt on mine. Heck the ones in the box outside only have a 60 and a 100, and they are doing fine, Grannted their box is covered, but still

So what time can I expect company?

I get so bored being here with just dad and Cris all the time! Probably why I'm on BYC so much. least that way I have someone to talk to!

LOL yeah, it's a skull (two of them, actually) at the feet of Mary (holding Jesus).

Yeah, I was wondering that myself, I may just have to hang one heat lamp high over them, to heat the general area, and not have it aimed right at them.

What I used before was my snake lamp - which takes a smaller watt red bulb - I've never had to use a 250 watt bulb in the house.

Maybe I can just use the snake lamp (old bulb burnt out) and put a smaller watt light bulb in it. It isn't as bulky as the brooder lamp shells. It won't be a red bulb, but oh well.

Sooooo, I have calmed down a bit

I tend to get a bit ticked when I'm taken advantage of, sorry if I ranted on ya all. Seriously, though, I DID move down here in part to get away from that (from my family) and now I still have to deal with it. I love my family - we just get along better when I'm 500 miles away. (plus, now I have caller ID
gig.gif
does that sound horrible of me?)

I did, however, let him know that I'll be busy all weekend, so if he needs a ride to pick his truck up, it'll have to be Monday at the earliest. I'll just have to make sure I check the caller ID before I answer the phone in case he tries to get me to go anyway.

Ok, gonna go clean something....

I haven't used a red bulb yet, and haven't had any problems with pecking (knock on wood!)
I just use the regular brooder sheild, with a 60 watt bulb mostly. Heck, for the first couple, all they had was a lamp with the shade taken off laying over their box! I think it even had a 40 watt in it! Mine stay in the house until they are about a week old, unless there is a mama with bitties, then they go with her. Emma is trying to get her babies to roost in the building now. It's cute. Poor things are scared to death of the other chickens though, and won't even try! They could climb up the ladder to get up there, but they won't. I guess she is getting tired of sleeping under the chickens house!

Hey ya'll!!! If it's okay I'll be heading your way around 11ish. I'm not going to wait for Layne because then it would be too late, gets dark quickly after he gets off the bus.

Oh and Meri, I think I have some puppy training pads left from this last Summer when I had chickies...As a matter of fact, if Ron didn't move them to the shed yet I have a bunch that mom gave me around the end of my brooding frenzy. They are much better than using paper towels from my experience. And all you have to do is change them out every few days at first then every 1-2 days as they get a little older. I'll go look in the garage when I get done here. This comes first...Priorities ya know?!

OH Yeah, you did great on the brooder box Meri...Very creative.

I never thought of using puppy pads!! coolness, yeah bring em along if you find them.

I probably won't be able to come to Shelley's with ya
sad.png
cause I got so much to do before Jake and Anita get here friday.

Oh, get this - ya know how I was ticked earlier and ranted a bit - well, the rest of the story is - I was trying to do a wire transfer from my bank up north down to here - had to fax all the info to the bank up north - and the IDIOT told me the wrong fax number!!! I have no idea who I faxed my bank account numbers, address, phone number, signature, etc... to. Nice, huh? when he called to find out why I hadn't sent the fax yet, he said I got the number wrong, that he told me the right number.

Ok, sure, that's something I'm gonna screw with just because I didn't feel like listening - I'm gonna purposely not listen so I can send my vital banking information to a total stranger.

Ok, done ranting, I guess.

Ok, I'll expect you tomorrow around 10 o'clock - or 11 o'clock

whichever it happens to be.

Hey if you remember, and if Cindy wants to come over by herself, can you send the packing stuff with? Unless she was planning on stopping here first to get those chicks? If that's the case, then I'll come get them eventually!! If it gets in your way let me know so I can make dad take me over there!

Sure, if she comes here first I'll be sure to give it to her. It isn't in the way, it is in the sewing room

along with everything else.

btw, in that one pic, if it were normal size, you could see the other items on the shelves.... it's a weird mix, believe me.

partial list of what is in the pic....

bible, book of common prayer, machete, skulls, angels, virgin mary, toad statue, cauldron, crosses, maracas from haiti, umm... would have to look again ....

Oh, almost forgot - if you look to the far far right, you can see the Holy Grail

AWWW come on Meri, can't you spare an hour to get away? I promise I'll have you back before dark. Only because I should be home before dark.
