I'm awake, I'm here, where is everyone?
My oldest son emailed me this morning - he actually remembered my Bday
- I guess after I made him feel badly for not calling me on Mother's day, he figured he'd better remember this one.
Yes, I am one of those Moms who makes her kids feel guilty for stuff like that - ya got to make them remember somehow. Since I have all boys, they better learn fast that women get a bit put out about forgetting stuff like that. I look at it as tough love
wow, just noticed I need some hand cream - worked outside yesterday on the lean-to. My poor hands from doing chores (watering in cold weather) and working with wood and such they just get all dried out like sandpaper.
So, so far, two sons have remembered my birthday - middle child has not, but then he is usually the one who does, so I don't fault him, he has been working a lot lately - something new for him
.
Hubby hasn't said a word - makes me wonder if he forgot (remember, we BOTH forgot our anniversary, so I can believe he would forget
) or if he just plans to do something today for me.
Sam and Adam talk all the time on computer, so Sam probably
told Adam to email me
Sammy is my peacekeeper - he is like me, I was the peacekeeper in my family, too - still am.
I ought to be working on the hatching room, but I think I may put up the Christmas tree today.
I was listening to AFR last night, and the program I was listening to talked about Leisure Time - finding time out to just relax, which so many of us forget to do. It was really interesting. This guy had written a book about it, and I may try to find it at Alibris (cheaper than new). (I think his last name was Kimler, or some such)
It seems like now that I "retired" I'm more busy than I ever was when I punched a time clock. Hubby is one of those "got to get something done every day" and I'm one of those "the heck with it, I'm gonna sit here and read a book today" types
Maybe the book can give me some hints on how to get him to slow down a little.
well, just rambling today and saying Good Morning -
