Kentucky people

I just heard Toby jumping around out in the living room, so I yell at him "what are you doing?" he, of course, didn't answer me, so I went to look - he had caught a mouse!!

he was trying to get it back, actually, it had escaped and was hiding under the secretary by the wall.

The poor thing looked stunned and VERY wet

, so I moved a jar of change I keep there, and Toby grabbed him up and ran to the door (he knows he isn't allowed to play with such things inside) and I let him and Lily out to go play with their new "friend".

All the while, my cat is sitting there, calm as can be, watching Toby play with his mouse in the living room - she wouldn't catch a mouse if her life depended on it (not sure she could anymore).

I have such a good Farm Dog

loves chickens, catches mice, and chases coons away.

You are such a worry wart Meri! I even let Gertie and her babies out this morning! Granted she will most likely stay in the barn with them, but still she is out. But boy is it windy!! It blew a huge piece of tin off the top of the 'roo' tractor!

Well, I'm thinking the inside babies need to go outside. I just had to go 'rescue' one...it had flew onto the top of the towel over the box. It just didn't know what to think about all that big huge space looking back at it!

I'll call you shortly, I had to get a shower after being in that wind...I hate wind.

can you believe thw wind out there? at least it is warmish - oh, and checkign ahead, other than a couple fo days of ick, it is supposed to warm up to around 50 the rest of the week (after the ick rolls through).

woohoo!!!! that is why I moved to Kentucky (well, part of the reason

They'd be ok being out - they'd just hide in the garage - it is trying to get them back in tonight when they are afraid to get out of the garage I don't look forward to

Well Hello everyone. I have just caught the biggest raccoon that I have ever caught. I might ought to skin him out. I don't have any alum tho. *(I have a trappers license)

I should be in bed but it is nice out and I let my girls out for a few hours. They didn't want to go back in. I have other chicken in with Rusty and I think Rusty will not let them out.

I didn't have to change my litter for over 2 years because the chickens would run out in the mornings and poop and I would put them in the tractor till evening. Well now they will not come out so they poop indoors. It looks like maybe 6 months before I have to change the litter this time. Bummer.

I just went to check my mail and there it was... a package from Stephen Tackett of Melvin, KY. It contained the three Barred rock eggs I won on ebay. Actually 4 eggs.

I guess I'll just have to clean out that ol' bator and see if these lil' eggs will hatch... I mean what else can a guy do?

Okay, okay. So I stayed up for more than my girls being able to get out and exercise.

I just noticed that you gals have put on about 100 pages in the last month. Would this be considered addicting? co-dependance? or just gabby?

I've notice that I've put the last three posts on myself. Must be lunch time. Well got to go. Coon needs a bath, bator needs cleaned. Roo needs taken out of the roaster. I really need some sleep or I'll be hurting tonight.
