Just to be clear, I am first on that list for self blue eggs!!! I was offered some by heelerdawg yesterday, so

I talked to bluedawg, and I am getting the mottled cochins and the millies!

On a more sour note

I got my eggs from Dipsey today, 6+ blue ameracaunas? Well, I should say that the eggs were delivered today. The stupid mailman hangs the boxes in a bag on the side of the mailbox. Somebody cut the bag off the box, drove down the road a little ways, took everything out of the box, and tossed it on the road!! I didn't see the eggs (not like they would have been any good) so they probably got taken home for breakfast. I cussed out the poor woman that answered the phone at the P.O., but I get to call back tomorrow and talk to the post master.

I seen the millie rooster today for the first time and he is a nice one. I used to own the millie hen and she is really nice too. Lays alot of eggs come spring.

If I have hubby build me another coop, I still want a brooder coop, just for babies. Not sure how I want to orient it, though. Nothing too fancy, just warm and draft free.

I kind of miss the peeping, though. The cochin babies made the cutest noises. The little cochin cockerel would try to crow, but it came out as pure peeps, just different tones all strung together. It was so adorable.

I love the cochin peeping - even my older cochins peep, not really cluck or make "chicken sounds". Hoss crows, but I haven't ever heard Rudy crow. Hoss doesn't crow very often, either.

Just think I have to wait at least 3 months for a houseful of chicks again

The two orp babies don't make a sound - they are so quiet you wouldn't know they were there.

Wish I could find some game feed around here...I'd be feeding it to my ducks instead of the grower/finisher.

Okay all Bluedog420 has now is the gold(trio) and the silver(pair) Sebrights and the black jap pullets. Wasn't someone on here looking for golden Sebrights?

she liked being an inside chicken, I think. If I'd have had a chicken diaper I'd have probably let her run all over the room when I was home with her.

eta - one thing I'm good at is spoiling chickens

Yeah, Cortni said if she was ever to have an inside chicken it would be one like BC...Follows you around like a dog and even gets under your feet like one. When I'm sitting on the blocks in the pen she stays under my legs if she isn't on my lap. She even has the Faverolles babies coming up to be held or hide under my legs. They try to keep their distance from Nutmeg(Buckeye) because she is sneaky and will walk up like she's doing something else and then hurry to get a good peck on the head in then runs...She's so wierd. So the Favs I guess think I'm their protector.

well, I talked to darryl about saving the black pullets for me, but I can't go with Cindy to get them tomorrow - hubby's car just got a massive transmission fluid leak, and we have to get it fixed - hopefully can have it towed in tomorrow. He hasn't driven it in weeks, but had to take it to town today cause he had this jury duty thingy. So he got home today and it started to leak on the driveway, really badly. so now that he needs it for the jury duty, we have to get ti fixed right away. Stoopid car sat in the garage for so long without being needed, now we need it it is broken.

so.... I asked Cindy if she could pick them up and I'd pay her for them (which I hate to do, cause it seems like I always ask her to do that) and I said I'd understand if she couldn't or didn't want to, I wouldn't be upset, cause I really don't NEED the pullets, then I could pick them up at her house from her, when I had a chance to get away from here. But she never answered back, so I don't know if I ought to tell him to go ahead and sell them to someone else or what.

Jon has to work every day this week except tomorrow - naturally - the day I have to help Bruce get his car in to be fixed, and I'm afraid if I went to BlueDog's with her I wouldn't be back in time to take jon to work. But, if I just went to her house to pick them up, I could make it back in time. and I don't know how long Bruce's car will be in the shop.

did that explain or did I make it more confusing?

Well that sucks

Let me know if she gets back to you, though I don't know what good it would do me. The ones I wanted are $40 for both pairs, and that's a lot to ask, especially since I still owe her for most of that farm! Ugh, let me know what's going on, okay?
