I had a pip under Miss Piggy earlier when I went to gather eggs - keep your fingers crossed.

and yes, Shelley, I have lousy luck with hatching - maybe I ought to try some Voodoo on the coop

get the Mojo workin' out there.

OOooohhh puppy tummies - you KNOW how much I love puppy tummies!!!! don't show them to me

hubby would have fits if I got another dog. (but I love beagles!!!!)

Briar - I have no idea what colors or percent frizzle you'd get - I suck at the whole genetics thing. I would have to guess that half her babies would be frizzled, and half not - and likewise, half mottled and half not - but that would too simple, eh?

Oh, btw - hubby is talking about putting in a pond for me next year - he said I could have a few ducks on it

hmmm.... I wonder what his idea of "a few" is.....

you don't have to have a frizzle to get a frizzle. frizzle gene is in the cochin... as for color...white will prevail first and then u may get a mottled out of em the first...

...you can get frizzle from straight cochin's...i been doing cochin's a long time

so your saying that the frizzled girl will throw frizzle whites then if i line breed them back in they will throw some mottleds and whites the mottled frizzles full sister is blue so will she throw blues too down the line

Okay I am finding out that our Silver Call isn't sick after all, it is just that the other males are ganging up on him I have noticed it happening a lot in the last couple of weeks. Must be because of the season coming soon. But anyway we have decided for his best interest that we need to rehome him and his girl so he can heal and live a happy studly life with his girl....The other drakes have nibbled or whatever they do the Silvers back feathers short. He just isn't happy.
being that he is sad looking right now I'll take 20.00 for the pair. Anyone up to nursing this poor guy back to a healthy shine. He is healthy otherwise, meaty and eats drinks etc...

Guess what im coming down your alls way this month dont know what day yet im going down to liberty around the 17 sometime for a birthday party!

I was told they were Silver but they don't look anything like the pics I've seen of Silvers. They are in a pic in the waterfowl forum under "If not Silver then what" or something like that. He is in much nicer shape in that pic. They are all muddyish right now because of all this rain we've been having. And since he has been abused by the others he is having a hard time staying groomed.

The guy told me in the Spring. But I have seen the Khakis breeding already so it will be in the next couple of months I guess. I am new with them too...So we'll both be learning when that time comes.

Cindy, if Briar can't take them for some reason, I will buy them. They are so cute and tiny

Hubby can't complain about something so small. I'm actually Bummed that Briar got to see the post first

I'd love to have them.

btw - there is one baby out there under Miss Piggy. This one is fine looking, no guts hanging out or anything. I found part of the egg and all I saw on it was "12/13" - so it, also, is yours, but not sure what it is. It looks like the other chick, from what I could tell. Hope to have a LOT more by tomorrow. I'd hate to just have one hatch.
