Kentucky people

Cindy, I am sorry to hear about the hawk attacks on your ducks. Hopefully the Blue Drake will make it.

Shelley, sorry to hear about your baby duck. However, if any of the Serama eggs hatch out, and the Mille Fluer D'Uccles that I have coming you are welcome to take your pick if you want. Of course I'll hopefully also have some silkies too. I think you said you were gonna focus on Bantams, and these eggs are all from SQ birds.

I saw an ad today on Craigslist under the Real Estate for a farm with 28.9 acres, house and 7 outbuildings including a nice size barn. I'm gonna investigate it further and see what I can do about acquiring it. It was listed for only $165,000.00 Cross your fingers that something works out for me on this one gang!

After the cold spell is over and the weather is clear enough I'll try and get some pics up of the cages I got and the set up I am working on.

Yeah, I really don't like large fowl birds. The only ones I'll have (hopefully) are golden lakenvelders (5 veining!) and blue ameracaunas (also 5 veining!).

And thanks for the offer. I also have millie eggs coming, and silkie eggs in the bator, with more on the way. Plus I think one of Cris's silkie pullets is looking for a nest

And I am not a serama person. I have 2 eggs in the hatcher right now that will be going to Cindy when they hatch. I heard one for sure peeping in the shell earlier!! But thanks anyway! I will hopefully be up to my ears in chicks soon!

Oh yeah, Meri, I candled my khaki eggs and none of them are developing, so looks like you'll need to look elsewhere for your babies. I might go in with you on some rouen ducklings, depending on how much they are. I can't find ducks or eggs to save my life!

Funny you should mention about Ducks and Duck Eggs, I just checked on BestFarmBuys and there is one listing under ducks right here in Kentucky!

Middleton Poultry Farm, Dorsey Middleton, Phone # in the ad is
606-286-8081. Says they raise all kinds of ducks. I know 606 area code is around the Lexington area,or it used to be. Hope it helps you two out in your search.

I checked the ad on the farm and it's in Crawford County, IN not Kentucky. Bummers! I don't want to move further into Twister Alley and they get too much snow over there!

How big do these cute bunnies get. This one looks like it would fit into the palm of my hand. My grandma raised meat rabbits which weighted 15 pounds or so. I got some large bad scratches on processing day from them.

I don't need any bunnies but my sisters love them and one had a lop for over 12 years until it died of old age then got another. It too has died of old age. I don't know if she still has one or not, she might be interested. Depends on how big your guys get.

GOOD NEWS! Laynes blue Call is up and about today. I looked him over real good and he seems to be doing well. Had him a spot ready in the brooder when I went back to check on them. Thought I may have to bring him in. Guess he won't need it now. He must've have been so terrified he couldn't function yesterday. I fed and watered them and left them in the doghouse for today at least. Gonna have to go buy some straw though because they made a muddy mess in the doghouse even though they just had the poultry waterer. Hoping Southern States has it, that's where I've been getting my pine shaving bales.

They are small, especially compared to the kind you mentioned. Layne has one, a girl and only pet quality, that was wounded as a bunny and is now crippled somewhat, although she still hops around, just crooked. She also got lesions in her eyes when she was in the bunny brooder at the store. Poor thing looks like she's old but she is only about 3 yrs old.
They are the sweetest little bunnies.

Cindy

Ms. Lewis Rich :

Some listed on bestfarmbuys.com in Ky. is looking to buy some of those bunnies.

Hi Cindy, waiting for the cold weather? Just can't wait to see next gas and elec. bill!!!!

The next one? Our last one went up 60 dollars and we used less heat that month...Our elec. coop raised prices because of some penalty fee they were charged or something. This one will probably be 300.00.

Got any snow yet? We had a good snow shower for about 5 minutes and nothing since.

My BLRW/BCM is starting to look girly so far, hope it stays looking that way, gonna have a flat comb too instead of a single one. The EE has me baffled though, it's comb has a touch of darker pink but not red and is still small, as in no more than one ridge. Hope it's a girl, but as far as the leg size goes it's not looking like a girl, unless they just had big legs. And the Brilkie(Belle and Raouls baby) that watches over them even though she is only a little older is looking girly too.

Same as you a snow shower now done.
My gas & elec, is on even billing I pay 196.00 every month, once a year they usually give me a free or a less amount , Well this year which was this month I opened it and I still owe them 799.04.
I went on a diet today(Guess I had to so I can pay Duke Energy) LOL I am doing the Special K diet suppost to loose 6 lbs. in 2 weeks I lost weight on it one other time hope it works again.Sorry about your duck!

I have another baby duck. The last one finally hathed last night. This one is definitely a mix of rouen and cayuga, well, most likely anyway. It has stripes on the sides of its head. Other than that is black.

I also have a baby serama for you Cindy!! It looks white, but it is still in the bator. I have another serama egg and a frizzle egg in there due to hatch, so hopefully this little guy won't be alone for too long. If so, I'll have to put it with the ducks, those are the only other babies I have!
