Thanks. If I would have thought about more coming in I would have told you to be on the look out.
I need a single King pigeon female. I am going to Cookeville tomorrow so I am hoping to come home with some?? or one?? or none?? And maybe some call ducks.

If I dont find any I will have you find me one.

You guys ever see any parlor roller pigeons out that way? I had someone give Cris a 'pair' that turned out to be 2 males. No biggie, they are loving my dad's pigeons, but I would like to have pures if possible! I think one of his has mated with a white homer....so the babies will either be able to fly totally, not at all, or half the time!

Crooney There is someone in Nashville that advertises King pigeons pretty regular. I think he gets $10 each for them. Just go to nasville craigslist and search for king pigeons and he should come up.

Just for those who know who (or what) BC is, she laid her first egg today

Well, I called the guy about the lumber today and he said that all I had to do was show up with a pry bar, hammer and something to haul all the wood away in.

Then I called the guy that was having to sell his birds, came home with 4 babies, a buff, a black, a blue splash and a grey. I also got his pair of self-blue Silkies. Samson, my OEGB roo was not too happy to have another roo around. So I put the run I got yesterday and set it up for them. So now the three big silkies are in their new home, and the babies are in the brooder. I was going to get a white one but he couldn't catch it, so I said not to worry about it. Now if I picked right I should have some more pullets.

More later, off to bed.

Yeah, I was a bit surprized, but her comb and wattles have been red for a couple weeks, now, and she hangs out with George and his hens more often than not, so I figured she was about ready to start laying.

I'd have to check the calendar, but I'm pretty sure she hatched out this last december. She is slightly early, I guess, most of them don't lay til 6 months. (some I've had lay later than that).

Oh, btw - anyone around Columbia - did you see on Columbia Magazine that there is a yard sale (was today and is tomorrow, too) that has poultry?
lau.gif
they have geese, ducks, turkeys and chickens for sale at their yard sale.

First off, she didnt' hatch in Dec, cause I got Heidi when you and Cindy came and Cindy brought me those eggs. Those eggs hatched Dec. 3, and BC and Heidi were both about a month old, if not older (ETA: When I got those eggs), so they are probably old enough!

Secondly, that yard sale is at my friend May's house

ETA again: They grow up so fast, don't they?
