I have to get them out of the brooder bin so I can get a good shot of all three of them.

Yeah, I'm gonna miss these guys here, I hope my $$ comes in before that order needs to be paid for! If not, then I probably won't be able to get them

I have 2 eggs in the bator that look like they are doing well, so hopefully those will hatch

Ok, I moved the gooses to the playpen - did some brooder cleaning and swapping....

Still not great pics - they wouldn't cooperate with me.

But, here ya go - Lucy, Fred and Ethel... (Lucy is the smallest one, Ethel is the dark backed one, and Fred is the lighter big one).

Ok the Dodo bird thing kept bugging me today trying to remember what that bird was that Big Bird was built up after and found the one that was at the exotic bird farm sanctuary that was where we used to live. The guy that ran the farm sanctuary must've told me this was in the same classification as the Dodo is why I thought that was what it was. But here is what they had there
It's a Cassowary

FINALLY!! got back into BYC - it kept kicking me off earlier.
Oh well, I had time to get my shower and make a margarita.

I cleaned coops today after I got home, and then moved 3 baby ducks outside and cleaned the brooders. It smells a LOT better in my hatching room now

I didn't even get to eat dinner, though, until 9 o'clock
lau.gif
but I was still full from chinese, so I didn't mind.

Hubby got all my dishes done, too

So, now I just have to finish moving birds and finish cleaning my house before Thursday when my sister comes down. Tomorrow, though, I have to go to town and get three bales of straw and another brooder bin or two
lau.gif
I have lots of hatches the next two weeks, and I have the dellies coming next week, too.

mmmmm margarita

kids managed to leave me just enough ice for it - gonna have to add that to my list tomorrow, too.

So, I was taking a break earlier, and chatting with hubby and I told him I need to have another breeding flock
lau.gif
I need Barred Rocks - so he said yeah, keep what I want and he'll build me another coop before summer's out if I need one

he is such a pushover.

Cindy and I saw at least three pullets out of the mix today (might have more) and I KNOW I have boys, so I'll just keep a boy and whatever girls I can find in there. Day & Day hardly had any barred rocks come this year, and I took a lot of them, but they didn't have too many, so I probably got mostly boys. Plus, I sold a LOT of BR, cause everyone wanted those. I should have picked my own first, then sold the extras, but I'll have enough for a small starter flock at least.

I think I'm taking all the red chicks, all the black australorps and all the partridge rocks to the auction Friday (if I can talk my sister into going on her first day here

) I need room in the brooder coop, and those I don't intend to keep anyway, so they may as well go now.

I have 15 buff orp babies in the hatcher room, right now, plus the ones I have in the brooder coop - so I'm set for those, too, for now - I'll probably raise those to POL then sell them. I already could sell them if I felt like it, but I want to raise them a little longer - I may want to add one or two to George's girls. I have enough other birds to sell, anyway, I can keep those a little longer. I also have about 20 columbian rocks, so those will probably go next. I think with the dellies and the brahmas I'll have enough columbian pattern birds.

The buff orps are sweet, they don't bother anyone out there, just do their own thing.
