Cuda is fenced in with the birds..no reason for the mailman to go there..so no worries.

How would I get a Partridge out of white, blue, blue splash and black...that's what I can't figure out.??

He is up and running around now and doing fine - I guess it's a good thing I went to look when I did.

Luckily it was a quail waterer and it has a recessed area beneath the bottom of it - just enough for a tiny quail to fit (tightly and squished, but he fit).

You can't tell him from his hatch mate, now (thank goodness!!).

Hubby had fun talking too - he loves to "share his stuff" with other people

Like "show and tell", I guess.

We'll have to get us all together for a chicken meetup of the local folks around here sometime. Have a cookout or just sit and talk chickens and have some ice tea.

Hi Neighbor! Welcome to BYC. I am over in Boone County. What kind of hens do you have? Glad to see more folks from our part of the state.

Thank you very much for the welcome. I have 8 that are just a barnyard mix.. I bought them from a chicken farm in Cynthinana. I have one rhode Island Red.. it was a gift from my bird raising neighbor (he raises doves and homing pigeons)

I really am hoping to get eggs soon.

I think backyard chicken coops are going to become more popular.

Ms. Lewis Rich :

Ichthus Welcome Neighbor!
I will be in your neck of the woods this evening at a graduation at NKU.
I raise and show Exhibition Bantam Cochins and Silkies.
If I can be of any help let me know.
Your neighbor,
Karen

you have silkies.......what colors?

i have three reddish brown hens.. they are about five months old. They still haven't laid yet. They look like a mix with rhode islands...

I have two black and white speckled ones, a solid black one and a grey (possible silkie) the guy who sold them to me called them "barnyard mix" He said "all my chickens run together".. so i guess that means they are mutts?!? lol

I bought eggs from him too.. nice jumbo brown eggs.. very nice. I am hoping to get some good brown eggs... I am going to supply our emergency grocery drive from our church and then sell what is left .. just enough to cover feed etc....

I will post a picture of my coop..

Cool, I'd vote for Sydney's house -- just remember to bring your trusty towel to swab off the drool

So, is it gonna be just us ladies having a chicken chat, or are the hubby's coming along for the ride?

I know my kids wouldn't be interested - if it doesn't involve computers, they're out of the game
hmm.png

Maybe we could do a Late June or July thing - cookout, everyone bring a dish and their own meat to throw on the grill.... If Sydney isn't up to that I can do it at our house

Does everyone like Black Beans and Rice?

Would I be invited? If so, I'd vote for the hubbies. Everywhere I go, I have to have dad with (he's my ride), so I'd need someone to keep him occupied!

And I'd vote it at Meri's, since it's closer to me...but I'm biased
